The Gold Coast Titans are back in the familiar surrounds of Cbus Super Stadium today to take on the Cronulla Sharks. Join The Roar for live scores from 3pm (AEST).
The Titans snatched a rare win last weekend with victory over state rivals Brisbane. The 18-point margin indicated that maybe, just maybe, Justin Holbrook’s side aren’t headed straight for the wooden spoon.
Cronulla also came away with the two points last week, putting 40 points on the hapless – and admittedly very depleted – Sea Eagles. Unsurprisingly, that led coach John Morris to pick an unchanged side, although the Sharks boss has made a habit of switching Andrew Fifita to the bench for Braden Hamlin-Uele on gameday.
The Titans have lost Dale Copley to injury, but have a more-than-adequate replacement in the centres in former NSW Blues representative Tyrone Peachey. Copley’s absence has also given Bryce Cartwright an avenue back into the side via the bench.
Gold Coast have also seen Kevin Proctor and Phil Sami ruled out with injuries sustained at training.

Gal is a huge loss - he held players accountable. Sharks desperately lacking a hard headed leader. Fifita and / or Wade need to aim up massively in becoming captains.

Titans need just a bit more resilience. But hopefully with this deficit they'll throw it around a bit cos i think they've looked dangerous at times... Oh.

The NRL is reporting all 4 of the Gold Coast fans came to the game but as per procedure only 1 was allowed in.

That was a poor decision and cost the Titans six points then a penalty to Cronulla to rub it in.
