You do spend an extraordinary amount of time on the league threads for someone who has no interest clip. I guess you are just wanting to be involved in any international conversation since AFL doesn’t ave one at all. I’m counting you as a viewer/fan these days since your level of interest remains so high. 👍

Who could dethrone Australia at the next Rugby League World Cup?

If Katoa keeps his form up, he’ll be close to this team.

Good. Now both teams will go without a coach into the game…

Haha, nothing like a 17pt round to even up the contest.

Like I said they are a strong team, I’m not taking away from that but I fear you have contradicted yourself a bit. You’ve just described a lot of one-out plays and your assuming quality service from one of the spine players. Who is guiding these one-out runs to a position on the field where they put an attacking kick on? Who’s kicking – Hingano?

Without someone guiding the show, mixing up the options and keeping pressure on with a smart kicking game they will be relying on enthusiasm again. Spine players control the game, to call them meaningless is a bit disingenuous I think.

Geez you boys are more confident than me. Didn’t back them last week and won’t until they can show some type of consistency to be in the fight.

Cook relishes NRL rivalry with Broncos

Nothing about him that is physically unique? He’s been playing up 2-3 grades since he was a early teen and still stads over them all as he became a senior. There is no guarantee that he’ll get thrown into 1st grade unless he prives himself against the others in training, an exemption just allows him and the club the option. You’re arguement seems to be based around ‘one in all in’. That’s not the case at all. In every part of life you can apply for exemptions of some kind, whether you are successful is dependant on the complexity of the application. This is exactly the same situation.

Hasn’t Morgan arrived just in time for NQ but if Hannay has handed him ever reign in his first outing. I didn’t see Hampton do anything special to oust Clifford though, that an interesting call to drop him completely and bring Jake back. This is actually a tough pick, you have to think Cowboys but the Tiatns have been improving every week.

As for Brisbane, if Paix is fit, he should be in for Bully as #14. Luke was brought in as cover when Turpin went down and hasn’t showed much to justify his spot IMO. Surely ‘utility’ should be able to cover more than one role, Paix can – Luke cannot. Coach is second guessing himself again.

NRL Round 13 teams: Mass changes for Tigers, Fifita back for Broncos

Grant is injured, knee problem, not dropped.

Our coach does the same and then wonders why there’s no cohesion in the team.

At this stage you would have to think the Poms are the best chance but NZ have a few good individuals that could come together to form a strong squad. I really like Katoa, the backrower, he’s got good skills and awareness. As for Johnson, IMO he’s not at his flashy best but he is still pretty good form. Tonga, their time in the sun is closing unless they can find suitable replacements for Fifita, Ma’u and Hurrel and the spine is still an issue. The team they have is still strong and showed their class beating Australia but they depth isn’t so deep for what is still 18mths away.

Who could dethrone Australia at the next Rugby League World Cup?

It’s much the same in Brisbane. There are some league schools but they would be dwarfed by Nudgee, Grammar & BBC. The Broncos have any number of kids on scholarships at Churchie playing union at any given time.

😂 😂 😂 😂 Ohhh, that’s hilarious, ol’ punchy looking for the moral high ground! Only one of us have stooped to the point of insulting family and that’s where you started. After your performance yesterday you’ve clearly demonstrated you have no morals, ethics or the slightest hint of decency. The high road you’re looking for wouldn’t have someone of your character.

A rebuttal of Alan Jones

It’s not me Bourkos, the author has attempted to discredit what Jones has done in his campaign for change. As you just described, Jones has achieved what he set out to do. To my mind, the author didn’t like what Jones was saying about the code, board and specific people but that doesn’t make him wrong.

I don’t disagree with regard to the doctor but that recommendation about being 18yo is the overarching advice for all young players. I have no problem for that to be the first standard/criteria. My point (that is supporting V’landys point) that in certain circumstances applications can be made. I’m not concerned about the 1000 other 17yo who believe they are good enough, I’m talking about this kid specifically. Suaalii is a prodigy who has been in the ‘system’ for years, he has been surrounded by professionals. I respect the conflict of interest that the system is designed to get them onto the park, however, they do know the kid as well, his physical and mental fortitude as his family would. This will all make up part of the application for excemption.

As far as the coach goes, this is Wayne Bennett. He is very well known for not throwing kids in against men unless he knows he can handle it. This is the guy who sat on Payne Haas and David Fifita while they were tearing up the ISP straight out of high school. Bennett of all coaches won’t risk the kid or the game if Suaalii isn’t up to it.

You understand that’s a euphemism for significant change. It should be massively concerning that an otherwise successful bloke like Wiggs takes a look around and walks out a few weeks later.

IMO this isn’t a code problem. For the record I’m as harsh on NRL clubs who persist with old boys and vested interests. I don’t doubt their passion for the game but is it best for the future of the code or the benefit of outward appearances.

haha, which one of you ladies reported that comment here? Can’t have an opposing view on the union threads – no. W.A.P.

“white suburban with no college degree” Says the bloke who chose the boxing ring over education. “Rural Redneck” from the bloke who now makes a living down a hole in the middle of rural Australia. Wave the flag MAGA man, that’s all you.

I really hope your parents didn’t give you a private school education and this is how you turned out.

Apparently Staggs is the victim not the accused. Rarely is it good news when you click on to Fox and a Broncos pic comes up.

Veteran Darius Boyd is the answer to Brisbane's troubles

Yeah, I’d agree with that. If you put TPJ on the bench, he can play edge if they lose one during the match. I’d like Lodge to find some form again. I know he’s been bugged by injury but he’s just slow motion this season and forgot his passing game.

“tell me which sport you’d more likely find Trump supporters at?” Given his supporters are white conservatives, get out the MAGA cap and confederate flag buddy, they are your brethren.

And with that statement, Milford is out for a month. I wonder if we managed a few cheeky wins in that time, does Milford walk back into the team?

Veteran Darius Boyd is the answer to Brisbane's troubles

Dearden was surpising efficient and dominant in his tackles on Friday and some against the Storm. With Fifita back this week, I would like TPJ back as Prop, Paix as #14. Agree either Milf or Croft. They’ve been grooming Dearden and Paix for specific roles so may as well run with it if that’s the future. Then again, Boyd at FB may be the catalyst for Milford to run again. I wish just one had a kicking game beyong the bomb.

Veteran Darius Boyd is the answer to Brisbane's troubles

Yeah I agree about the hype. It’s hard to know A) from my keyboard and not knowing anything about the kid. B) he is still playing against kids. Also the same with his education, I hope where ever he lands to continues to better himself outside of ‘footy’.

To use the Beale analogy though, he is coming on a 100 test player. Does that justify the chase RU put on to get his signature in the first place? I understand where you (and Joe & many others) are coming from, I guess I’m looking at Joseph and not the swathe of 16yo – 17yo who may believe (by way of their manager) they are good enough as well and waiting to walk through the gap left open in V’landys decision.

What an obscure and irrelevant post. If I had to “do the maths” I would calculate that you have taken many blows to the head during the prize fighting career Max.
