The Warriors host the Canberra Raiders in Round 3 action at Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch. Join The Roar for live scores from 6pm AEDT.
Warriors hooker Wayde Egan is back on deck after an elbow issue and comes straight back into the side. Freddy Lussick goes back to the bench and Chanel Harris-Tavita to the reserves.
Canberra centre Seb Kris left concussed last weekend and is out, forcing a backline reshuffle. Nick Cotric takes over on a wing with Albert Hopoate moved to the centre. Elliott Whitehead makes his first start of the year in the back row, with Zac Hosking dropping to the bench.
The Warriors have been unlucky to lose their first two matches while Canberra are coming off wins over Newcastle and the Tigers. Warriors by 10

That ruling against the Tapine try was the killer. Stopped all our momentum. The technology was there to reverse the on filed decision but the bunker didn't have the stones to overturn it.

I'd like to see Trey Mooney out there as well. The biggest disappointment was dropping Hosking for Whitehead. Sent the wrong message. And then Whitehead only play 15 minutes and is replaced by Hosking - why bother putting him on in the first place? Ricky playing favourites again. Like Croker last year. Poor old Nick Cotric had a couple of clangers as well. Surely Schiller deserves a chance - he's been killing it in the reserves.

Totally agree Geoff. Guler is making up numbers and has never been explosive. Mariota is the new blood.

I don’t mind Montoya. Lussick hasn’t been doing much though. Losing a lot without Egan.

In terms of team selection Whitehead, Cotric and Guler don’t deserve to be in the 17 based on that performance. Mariota, Mooney, Horsburgh and Kris need to be in the team.

Warriors at home rub of the green    I must've been watching a different competition for the last two decades

When the forwards are on and we are getting good metreage we can score – but when its tight and an arm wrestle you wonder where the points are going to come from. Ricky has had years to get something happening – but it ain’t.
Tony the VIC pirate
It really was a solid game and both did well. Well reffed but I think the warriors had a lucky rub of the green in the final 20. Sometimes you get that...

Whenever we have one these 4 hitups, one turn inside, then a kick games, I marvel how we ever score enough points to win games.

Really? How many tries did you have disallowed? If the two Raiders tries had been allowed you would have had trouble taking it off them. You’ve whinged so much after games in the past but this time you were given an armchair ride.
Tony the VIC pirate
Totally agree, cotric has been back 3 years and has never shown been his explosive self again. Bring in Schiller and hopoate on one side, Kris and savage on the other

Dropping lussick woukd be a huge improvement. Wade with CHT Pompey for Montoya

Whitehead - what a waste of space. And Cotric - tries hard but a coupe of shocking mistakes. He has to go.
Tony the VIC pirate
Savage is 19 Geoff so he has plenty to learn. He is the firecracker we need but fogarty is not that, he is the calm head. Tapine no try was the turning point I thought, RTS touched it first but there was always more footy to play. I think the ref had a good game, bunker.....well....bunker doing bunker things

Where were the Raider halves in that final 10 minutes? They had opportunities - they had possession - but no guidance and no direction from the halves or the hooker to score tries. No set plays. Nothing. Very disappointing.
Tony the VIC pirate
Cotric and whitehead need to go….ricky messed with a good team. Only 3rd round so nothing lost. Warriors at home always get the rub of the green when they play us….

Well done Warriors. Metcalf makes a big difference in that side. Let go by the Sharks twice and Manly once. He wasn’t given much opportunity at either despite having a good skill set

Good game of footy that . Thanks Warriors , thanks Raiders.

To clarify, bunker has had a shocker both ways. Ref rubbish as well to both teams. Frustrating for both sides.
