The Knights lost few admirers in their 26-16 loss to Melbourne last week, but still need to make it up to themselves for the unfathomable upset they suffered against the Bulldogs the previous week. Three losses from their previous four meetings has seen their grip on a top eight spot shrink to just one point.
As for the Tigers, they fell out of the eight altogether after a bitterly disappointing 26-20 loss to the Warriors last week. After crushing the Broncos and pushing Parramatta all the way, it was a frustrating return to mediocrity for the Tigers and their long-suffering fans.
The Knights accounted for the Tigers comfortably in their meeting earlier this year, but had dropped five of the previous six meetings. Newcastle are only 1-2 at home this season, while Wests have won on their last three visits to the venue.
