Round 21 of the NRL premiership continues tonight when the North Queensland Cowboys take on the Parramatta Eels at QCB Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7.35pm (AEST).
Cowboys forward Heilum Luke is still a week away from a return after his facial fracture so Todd Payten has kept the same 17 who downed Manly.
The Eels have Josh Hodgson (neck) out for the rest of the year and Dylan Brown suspended for two more weeks and the judiciary has them in further disarray for their trip north.
Blues prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard has been banned for four matches after he was charged with grade-three dangerous contact for dropping his knees into Gold Coast hooker Chris Randall while winger Maika Sivo is out for three weeks for a grade-two careless high tackle on Jojo Fifita.
Parra are struggling with three stars unavailable due to suspension and Josh Hodgson is also out injured. Cowboys by 8

I understand that. When has the refereeing been consistent this year or in any year ? I saw a penalty for players being offside, in front of the kicker. They let the player run 10 metres from what I could see, before doing a tackle. Where do they pull that rule out of, when tacklers are always downfield & in front of the kicker?

All fans want from refs is consistent rulings, if they are only going to call 6 again and not put anyone in the bin, teams will just keep infringing. The last few weeks of inconsistent rulings have cost teams points resulting in Annersley turning up on Mondays to say the ref got it wrong but the reefing doesn'tseem to have improved.

Not many do. Yet , you’re very unhappy for someone who’s team has won & got a good amount of penalties & 6 agains?

And another newly invented rule made for the Eels benefit tonight. Catching the ball standing in an off side position isn’t accidental off side. Catching the ball is playing at the ball and is a penalty. That was directly in front of the sticks? Accidentally of side is when it hit you in front of where a team mate propelled it.

Yep... 100%!

And yet you can't seem to see the fact that no Parramatta player went to the bin for repeated infringements.

Simply stuff a pass isn’t something that bounces on the ground. It then becomes a situation where it last touched the hard to where it contacts the ground. It travels forward asd there is even a line that clearly makes it obvious? How did they miss it ? Well the Eels are behind on the scoreboard IMO.

Yep... maybe I am just to one eyed, but that seemed so obvious. I can't believe not one paid professional commentator said, jeez that was a bit forward wasn't it !?

Hope Nania is okay. Other than that great performance! Look... I really had a winge about some of the calls tonight but the inconsistency can do your head in sometimes. We won that but if we didn't i think I would have lost my mind. I really like Parra as a team and love the attacking brand of footy they play, but good lord they get some calls going there way... maybe just the Pinot talking!

Amazing if the ball left your hand a meter before the line and bounced a meter over the the line it would be a knock on? Imagine how they missed that? Try confirmed LOL.
Thanks for the call once again mate

FT NQ 24 PAR 16 A well deserved victory for the Cowboys. Six straight victories for them as they enter the NRL top eight. Having survived the sin bin period and key injuries in their forward pack, the Cowboys showed great resilience in defence to have only conceded 16 points. The Eels were exposed harshly in defence during the first half and that was their downfall in the end.

Well done, Cows! Commiserations Eels fans, came back and made a game of it, well done for that.
Well done Cowboys. From disaster to Top 8. Seemed to have timed their run really well.

80’ Moses with an early kick. Taulagi takes it. Clock runs down and Drinkwater takes the tackle. Full time and the Cowboys win!
