Laundry money . 👍 😂

NRL Round 8 judiciary: Massive Manly blow as Haumole and DCE banned, Sivo charged for 'stupid' hit

Been saying it forever .
Then some clubs can keep first graders on first grade contracts , playing Cup level for years . Before choosing them to play first grade.
Same people who say there should be a draft . Are those whose clubs buy up the best players developed elsewhere. At all levels . Through the independent billionaire sponsor money , that buys their clubs a team.

I know, but when injuries come along he may play there?

MVP Dylan Edwards is the man Penrith's system might not be able to cover

True. It was reported last season that they sought to sign him to play fullback. To then move Gutherson. Although with Lomax going there to play centre, where would that leave Gutherson?

It may leave Campbell at Parramatta , at some point?

I don’t think there are any nearly Walsh’s playing in the top couple of grades there . Just clarifying that.
Plus there won’t most likely be any great performances at fullback by Turuva . Unless they are for West’s?

Some players do fall apart completely because of it.

Hope your Bunnies do an amazing turnaround & win tonight.

NRL Round 8 Team Lists Late Mail: Injury causes Dragons reshuffle, Cleary back, Broncos' mixed news, Eels blood new half

The 3 tries with a runaway try against Manly in a loss was a surprise to me. As was the kick ahead try against the Roosters.
He’s been a great metre maker & general in defence. Sometimes can suffer some dropsies at fullback under kicks. So given him some good praise.
Who’s to say that an Iongi, Turuva, Laurie couldn’t be great from the back for the club . Given a good run there. As they all bring their own abilities & pace .
Edgar looks like the long term player who will replace Edwards, who is now 28. He was a standout last season in juniors.
With the very fast attacking fullbacks such as Walsh now playing first grade. Every club will be seeking their own probably lesser version of him.
Who’s to say that Penrith won’t find their own Walsh , or that he’s not already playing for the club?

I feel exactly the same way about Cleary & the NSW team. Cleary has played little first grade football this season. There are doubts about his fitness & with his continued hamstring problems.
He hasn’t been that convincing with his displays for NSW ever . So wouldn’t be missed , if allowed to actually play some first grade games instead & regain some fitness.
How did that go? 😂

As good a proof as is needed , if they were there & witnessed it.
Especially if others just say, we saw nothing.
Given that you were already saying that this will end up in an out of court settlement. Shows that you pretty much believe him now , or at least accept that it could have happened , just as he said. The affect that it’s had on him & his mental health , is just as he says.
It’s just that you’d prefer them to go with the keep it all in house & pay him out of court type of settlement.
Gloss over & move on.
👍

The question was really, would they have treated every player the same way?
Not sure given the treatment handed out, that they would? Neither could you be .

There’s certainly a ‘duty of care’ question to be asked, in that case.

I think every club has a very tough preseason training regime. Maybe some tougher & longer than others.
There’s a bit of a difference with every player going through a tough training schedule. To one or two being subjected to what may be seen as unreasonable punishment, that they feel has been used to also humiliate them . Not then being offered any assistance after that & it’s all affected their mental health.
Then would they have done all the same things to a Burton?

Starting placing a reply & it just disappears again. As often happens on this site?
Might as well give Pryce a go. Nothing to currently lose.
Feel a bit sorry for O’Brien . He’s also been shuffling the halves cards around, as they haven’t really bought an answer. ( Perhaps young Jye Linnane may be an answer in the future? )
Pretty small in the forwards & they haven’t brought in any other big forwards to support the Saifiti brothers. Don’t think Hetherington has been that good, most of the time.
Lose young Riley Jones who is a much touted dummy half , before the season started. Brailey has been often injured & really has been a disappointment . Not offering a lot in attack .
Jenkins hasn’t been a great replacement for their best winger Young . Although they’d not found a way to take advantage of his pace.

NRL Round 8 Team Lists Late Mail: Injury causes Dragons reshuffle, Cleary back, Broncos' mixed news, Eels blood new half

How many other players given the boot by the Bulldogs, after last season?
He only needs one or two of them to testify that they also witnessed the event . Maybe a former Club Captain & forward would be willing to place a statement regarding the matter?
No doubt that any player still there would be told to shut up , even if they witnessed it & would otherwise have something to say.

NRL News: 'Happens every day' - Anasta defends Dogs as $4M lawsuit looms over former player's training punishment

Pryce is a fullback, as well as a half. Armstrong is a fullback that’s been playing well in lower grades & will get a chance in first grade. He has plenty of pace .
Sharpe is a young gun at fullback. He may have been first choice, except he is currently injured.
It’s just a matter of opportunity & then giving them a chance at fullback.
They originally bought Pryce to play fullback , with the thought of Ponga playing 5/8 at that time.

NRL Round 8 Team Lists Late Mail: Injury causes Dragons reshuffle, Cleary back, Broncos' mixed news, Eels blood new half

It just seems a very strange move , to allow him to go to the Warriors to me. He can’t get experience playing at Penrith? Firstly in Jersey Flegg & then NSW Cup.
Real doubts about Cole or Schneider being of any great quality themselves. Toelau has been superior to either of them , when they play alongside of him in NSW Cup .

Paradox of parity: NRL craves a level playing field but fans love to hate a dynasty like Penrith’s undisputed reign

Not sure why he’d join the Raiders? His path is well & truly blocked , by all of the other young halves there.

NRL Round 8 Team Lists Late Mail: Injury causes Dragons reshuffle, Cleary back, Broncos' mixed news, Eels blood new half

I see the Broncos winning it this season. They may then win again next season.
I predicted a Broncos GF Win last season & was very close with that prediction.

Paradox of parity: NRL craves a level playing field but fans love to hate a dynasty like Penrith’s undisputed reign

I’m really disappointed with that .
Was looking forward to Jett Cleary staying at Penrith. Then hopefully joining his brother in first grade.
Not sure why Ivan is acting as an agent , to get his son to go to the Warriors? Especially when the Warriors have bought quite a few young halves of late , including another talented young 5/8 from Penrith.
Of course, if Ivan is still coaching at Penrith & Penrith do need another half- 5/8. He could always get Jett back at any time. Via the JFH clause. The Warriors would be bound to have to let him return home.
There’s also the chance that perhaps the Penrith club didn’t think that Jett was quite up to it?
I know that Penrith have definitely lacked a few young halves , after the raids on their players.

Paradox of parity: NRL craves a level playing field but fans love to hate a dynasty like Penrith’s undisputed reign

Cronulla will be looking for a medical retirement for him. Which gives them an allowance with the cap. Only some clubs have received them for players.
No doubt the club also put that idea forward to him , before he made his decision. As it would allow them to upgrade some other players.

'There were no decisions to make': Skipper drops retirement bombshell after doctors' grave warnings

Just on the back of your NSW Cup halves mention. Trent Toelau came from the Storm system. I think he found himself running around in the senior men’s Sydney wide competitions. After once being the Thunderbolts ( Storm ) player of the year.
He’s now pretty much had a different halves partner at Penrith , each week during the early rounds of Cup. Yet he’s been a real standout. Setting up some tries & always there to back up others to score, or continue movements. Something that Luai hasn’t always done. ( He’s also been far more influential in the side’s performances so far , than Cole or Laurie . )
Reminds me a little of former West’s & Bulldogs great Terry Lamb , with the backing up part of his game.

Five and a kick: Benji's Tigers lost to Penrith, but did they actually win in the long run?

Shows you just how good the Storm are every single year. Very tough draws & they just keep trucking along.
