The red-hot Penrith Panthers will look to make it nine wins on the trot as they take on the Cronulla Sharks at Panthers Stadium. Stay up to date with their NRL clash with live scores on The Roar from 6pm (AEST).
They’ve had to fight more than usual in the last three weeks, but the Panthers just keep winning and find themselves two points clear atop the NRL ladder in what’s officially their best start to a season in club history. Still, given both Brisbane and Manly gave them a hard time, they’ll be looking to improve even further as the season goes on.
Meanwhile, the wheels look to have fallen off at Cronulla after they controversially sacked coach John Morris. In what’s perhaps been no surprise to their exasperated fans, the Sharks have been nowhere near it in the last three weeks, suffering the ignominy of giving the Bulldogs their first win before getting crushed by Melbourne last Friday night.
Penrith have won their last three matches against Cronulla, but had lost seven in a row beforehand. A win tonight will give them four wins in a row over the Sharks for the first time since 1986.
Kick-off: 6pm (AEST)
Venue: BlueBet Stadium, Penrith
TV: Fox League
Live stream: Kayo Sports, Foxtel Now, Foxtel Go
Odds: Panthers $1.09, Sharks $8 (odds via PlayUp)

What a massive fail Joe. I blame the PTSD from the game against your boys last night. That's what happens when you reply mid-game, and it ends up being from a different game. Doh!

Rabbits. They got beaten by 50 so we may be in with a shot ;)

Souths would have to hold the ball and have at least 50% of the possession for that to happen IMO. If they end up with 41% possession like last night I don't expect it to be a game I will want to remember. If Bennett was half the coach he thinks he is he will move AJ to FB, Cody Walker to 5/8 and Benji to HB. If the same team is picked next week then the Sharks already have the advantage.

Sounds like you'd love the 1986 GF then Hard Yards. ALL the points came off the boot! The score was 4-2 and more like a soccer match than a Rugby League Grand Final. The most boring GF in Rugby League history... after the Rabbitohs win in 1909 when they got awarded the premiership by default when they reneged on an agreement with the Tigers to boycott the GF in protest.

Touch wood but we might actually have a close game on our hands next week!

And dare I say it? The Sharks didn't look as bad in that loss as the Bunnies did last night. Souths were as soft as a 1-minute egg!

Based on the first two games, massive worry for Souths is, would their current team v Sharks have been a nice tight contest ?

Penrith yes, but I think the Bunnies leak too many points to beat anyone by 50, but time will tell
