The first Friday night clash of Round 15 sees two hot teams – the Penrith Panthers and Cronulla Sharks go at it. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary at 6pm (AEST).

The Panthers, who are currently in pole position, are flying in every sense of the word. They seem to be playing with great freedom and flair, hugely with confidence.

The Sharks, who have had a relatively easy schedule, look to start their tough finish with the biggest scalp of the competition. Last time they met, the Panthers stopped the Sharks’ winning form and gave them a reality check.

The Sharks will need to continue winning, to keep their top eight chances afloat, whereas the Panthers will try to claim the minor premiership.

Key Match-up
Shaun Johnson v Nathan Cleary: The battle of the in-form halves. Cleary has been what everyone expected of him, all he needed was a steady hooker. He is leading his team around with maturity and playing with such grit and toughness.

On the other side, the rebirth of Johnson is well underway. With more responsibility, SJ has come back to his best. In possibly career-best form, Johnson knows he has his work cut out for him. Whoever wins will definitely be led by their no.7.

Prediction
I was tempted to pick an upset here, as I think the Panthers need a bit of adversity leading into the finals, but I do think they’ll have too much class for the Sharks here.

I'm pretty sure we were playing next try wins. That's a thing this season right??

I think old Dooga is being held together by sticky tape these days - mind you he is still having a crack

Pointless - and Kikau had that dumb goofy grin after he did it - like it doesn't matter - I hope he goes for a couple of weeks

That is the most impressive stat of the night, if not the season. He even threw a pass apparently.

We play the Cowboys next week, hopefully we shouldn't need to play catch up on that one.

By the strapping, looks like he went in pretty scathed.

Nah he was in front of the football. Kikau was committed and just dropped the shoulder into his ribs on impact. No major damage just knocked the wind out of him.

I don't know. Last time we played the Panthers they almost put on 60, they couldn't even score 40 points tonight. These blokes are starting to fade. Well done to the Panthers. They are a seriously impressive footy team this year and it will take a bus accident to stop them going all the way. Up Up

Panthers showing everyone up this year hope they go all the way, not from the direction of Ivan Cleary getting raps for others work.

Panthers way too strong. Proving that the Sharks are a top 8 team and nothing much more than that. Final score Cronulla Sharks - 12 Penrith Panthers - 38
