Round 7 of the NRL Premiership continues this ANZAC Day when the St George Illawarra Dragons take on the Sydney Roosters at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 4.00pm AEST.

This traditional ANZAC Day clash is one of the highlights on the NRL calendar, and we get 2 last start winners in 2022.

Both last start winners, but neither were very convincing.

The Dragons clawed their way to a 21-16 win over the Knights last weekend at Wollongong.

At times it wasn’t pretty, and the Knights were on the wrong end of a horrendous penalty and set restart count, but the Dragons got the job done and banked an essential 2 points. Ben Hunt was instrumental in everything the Dragons did. He will need to put in a repeat performance here.

Anthony Griffin has posted an unchanged line up.

Similarly, after getting away to a poor start, the Roosters slowly overcame the Warriors 22-14 last Sunday afternoon.

It was a fair reflection of the Roosters so far this season, some good, so below expectations. Maybe Luke Keary and Sam Walker are taking time to gel, with the attack looking clunky at times. Yet they sit safely within the top 8 on 8 points.

In team changes, Paul Momirovski replaces Kevin Naiqama in the centres and Siosiua Taukeiaho takes Daniel Suluka-Fifita’s spot on the bench.

Prediction

Both teams will be up for this game so it should be good quality.

The Roosters just seem to have more star power across the park, and I think it might come to the fore this afternoon. The likes of Radley, Keary and Tedesco are due big games and that should prove enough for a Roosters win.

Sydney Roosters by 12.

OMG, how bias is this, this is exactly where your inner Sydney NSW brain is at, thinking your club is bigger than the game of rugby league and the community, this is the ugliest comments i have read on a rugby league forum. There are clubs all over Australia that were in existence during these wars and still in existence today. The families and supporters of these clubs are the grass roots of the game that develop the players that play “for all clubs” they have nurtured the game from the beginning till now. Look at the players from your clubs and how many did you purchase from far flung regions and claim as your own. The fact to even have to argue this is just plain disgusting. The supporters from these clubs want to see their clubs being represented with equal fairness and non bias. If you can’t manage that, give the management to someone who can!

Yep, it is called National Rugby League, since 1998 Just to give you the heads up McFly ... it is no longer called NSWRL Sure for "your" tradition if you want your state league can continue this game, go for it. As for the NRL stop the BIAS and allow the privilege to all clubs to celebrate the game on ANZAC day. Let them all have a turn.

I'm a Roosters supporter and I thought that was a bin too. Direct and forceful. Very lucky to stay on.

He was often under a lot of pressure, but found the turf on a few occasions. The biggest issue was when he chose to not kick a few times, or got tackled on the fifth.

Yeah, solid game from Lomax. I actually thought that was Suli's best game in the V. He made some mistakes, but you always assume he's going to. Your boys still look a bit clunky at times. What do you make of their start?

Yes the traffic is a problem but they have fixed allot of the bottlenecks. I use to be there every Saturday when the Bunnies played in the old days, what a pity that the SCG has been scratched as an NRL venue or only one venue a year!

Well done Saints but how you lasted, I don't know. Determined not to attack on the last tackle. No chance of scoring, or getting a repeat set. Just craziness. You're just not going to hold on to too many half time leads doing that.

Congrats Dragons!!, absolutely deserved the win against us today. Tupou should have been sin binned and you were handed some dodgy calls and yet you still triumphed. Best of luck for the rest of the year. Roosters... less said the better. Atrocious and certainly not playing like a top 8 side. Rule a line through us to do anything in the finals. If we even make it. Disappointing season so far. Players are well down on form
