The Sydney Roosters will look to rebound against a plucky New Zealand Warriors keen on the upset. Stay up to date with their NRL clash with live scores on The Roar from 6:15pm (AEST).

Last week couldn’t have gone any worse for the Roosters. They lost to their arch rivals, South Sydney, 26-16 and lost halfback Luke Keary for the year with an ACL injury. Now, it’s young prodigy Sam Walker’s time to show Trent Robinson what he’s made of as he lines up with Drew Hutchison in a new-look halves pairing. Their imperious first fortnight means they’ve got plenty of cushion, but they’ll want to prove to the doubters they’re still a force.

Life under Nathan Brown continued its surprising start for the Warriors last week as they pulled off an incredible, albeit controversial, comeback win over Canberra. The Warriors have been highly competitive in all three matches so far in 2021 – two of them wins – and will be looking to defy the odds once more and continue their unexpected stay in the top eight.

The Roosters have won their last three matches against the Warriors, including last year’s only meeting 18-10. The Chooks also have an extraordinary record at the SCG since readopting it as their home ground, winning 15 of 19 matches since the start of 2019.

Watda, very poor grammar, "so to speak" and "ordinary 'are' (not 'is') jealous Souths supporters" . There you go fixed it for my feathered chookie friend. BTW my comment above is reasonable, you seem to have taken it to a low level on many fronts. The Roosters have been good at beating bottom 8 teams but not so the top 4-5. To further elucidate, the Rabbitohs pumped the chooks twice in the last 6 months, not too much to be jealous of (21 premierships, and forever in our shadow). Some basic math 21 is greater than 15, that's 6 more.

Watda, I should comment on your poor grammar, “so to speak” but your comments make no sense either. What’s the round 7 reference to? nonsense? I’ll give you a point for your Dr Seuss attempt on “la Big Mig without a gig”

@Spartacus Smurf Sam Walker ate a kebab at Lenny's in Mascot last year, so that must make him a Souths junior eh mate?

If that comment is addressed to me, I fail to see the relevance on any level.

My chookies did not play with intensity and neither did the warriors... but will take the win....panthers playing the best so far...up to the rest to catch up

they're only playing a bottom 8 side, it will be a very different story with any of the top sides (Panthers, Storm, Raiders, Eels, Rabbitohs)

The roosters only good when piling on the points against the weaker teams, they would have been beaten again (severely) by the Rabbitohs if they had played tonight. Based on tonight’s performance they would not have beaten any of Panthers, Storm, Raiders or Eels either.

The most consistent thing about the Warriors is their inconsistency despite some seriously talented teams over the last decade. Having said that, they are showing great signs this last year or so. Even with Union being the hugely dominant sport over in NZ, there are enough phenomenal athletes that they really should have a strong team across the park most years. It’s always been tough to work out exactly what has consistently gone wrong for them over the years but with RTS leading the way and a solid core coming through I think they’re on a good path recently.

I thought the Warriors had turned a corner after last week. As if on cue they reverted to type. Even Craig Bellamy couldn’t get that team a premiership.

I thought they had a lot of momentum for a period there early in the second half and didn't execute. Chooks for the ball back and a bit of ill discipline from NZ and they go coast to coast, score and it's lights out. You really need to take advantage when you have the going with these rules.

I checked it out. Details were correct per previous post. I can't believe that McCrone got 21 run on games at half back. He was pretty ordinary.
