I very much doubt Easts offered Jorgo Jnr 900k per season. We only offered Latrell 850k a few years ago when he was a double premiership winner, Origin and Kangaroo star. Mind you, Manu and Suaallii are off to rugby, JWH will retire and Crichton and Tupou’s future are not finalised yet. So we might have some money in the kit.
For decades, every NRL player is somehow linked to The Roosters and we are used as a bargaining chip. It seems RU players are getting in on the act now. Don’t fall for whatever you read in the press.

Easts recruitment has been very good in the NRL era. Leniu and Young have been very good signings. If we get past the controversy, Leniu’s game against Brisbane was very strong and he added a lot of starch to our forwards.

That was a very good crowd. Many Kiwis (mainly RU fans) keep telling us that RL only has a foothold in the back suburbs of South Auckland, but crowds over the last couple of years dispels that myth. There’s been massive crowds all over NZ even for trial games.

The return of the Amco Cup can have the reggie and U21 players for the NRL teams (+ maybe 3 only first graders) put on their display and push for FG representation. It can give country teams, NZ teams, Perth teams and Adelaide teams to show their stuff. As well as the old QRL teams to reappear.
Also we can see our beloved long lost teams like Newtown and Drummoyne. And it will let us (dare I say it) BRING BACK THE BEARS!
