The Wests Tigers and South Sydney Rabbitohs face off in Tamworth. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 6pm AEST.

Since the famous 66-18 victory in Leichhardt, the Tigers have forgotten what a taste of victory feels like, losing their next seven games while winning two points thanks to the bye. Languishing at the bottom with 16th position four points away, it’s another forgettable season for the orange and black. In a huge boost for the hosts, Luke Brooks is back in the halves from his hamstring injury while Charlie Staines returns from a perforated bowel.

Life is not much better in Heffron Park as the Rabbitohs have won just two games since Round 12 of the NRL. Latrell Mitchell is set to make his return from injury for the first time in over 10 weeks, giving the Rabbitohs some much needed X-factor in the backline.

Prediction

The Tigers are struggling and are digging themselves into a bigger hole than expected. With Mitchell returning for the Rabbitohs, the Rabbitohs will be buoyed and give it their all in their attempts to return back into the NRL top eight. Rabbitohs by 20.

Yes and unfortunatley they blew it from R12 as if they were 3rd I’d give them a real chance, but ending up in 8th or 7th they are at best like last year, a finals week two chance at best, hope I’m wrong!

FT WT 18 SOU 32 The Rabbitohs may have ended the game with the win, but boy were they thrown a massive scare in Tamworth tonight. The Tigers got the deficit down to two points halfway through the second half, but the Rabbitohs found their groove and ended the game with a 14 point victory and moving back into the top eight. The Tigers losing streak continues and questions look on whether the Tigers can win again in 2023.
