In the context of how the ruck was refereed all night ie there were no 6 agains despite obvious laying and interfering, and markers were allowed to get at dummy halfs, it was contradictory to what was previously ignored. Like allowing rough play the balls all night then penalizing one at the death in the red zone.

Good on the ref for blowing the penalty. Too often they put it away - because of rubbish like this. Pressure not to blow a penalty so the teams break rules. The infringement was obvious, no issues here, move one.

I thought it was a leg pull every day of the week. A pretty stupid play by the NSW girl and the Ref should be applauded for showing the balls to give it. The commentator who made the comment that there wasn’t much in it needs to pull her head in.
