How can anything that happens, be a disadvantage to the winner of the challenge, compared to the current situation? In next years GF you could have an incorrect strip and the team which now has the ball wins the game on the next tackle and all the angst and trauma could be remedied easily. Captains challenge. My fear is that it won't be introduced until a team loses a GF on a wrong call but it will be clearly too late for the loser.

Where's the advantage for the defending side if the captain wins the challenge after having to wait for a break? You're assuming it only takes another tackle for a break in play. What if it's another 5 tackles or more? I don't see this as easy as you suggest.

Easy , the ref plays advantage and the attacking side can stroll in and score the try. At the moment the captains protests that they missed the knock on from dummy half is ignored but captains challenge would give him the voice he deserves. No try, correct result, nobody unfairly treated. Even with the hand of Foran , the Captain should have the right to tell the bunker at the start to check for the ball coming off Forans hand. Why not? If the captain is wrong he loses a challenge . Once again we get the correct result. If the bunker misses it, after getting a legs up from the captain, they get the chop and find other employment.

All this will achieve is more stoppages and controversy.. how about getting rid of a referee. All that having two has done is add a ridiculous level of confusion and double the wage bill

What decisions will a captain be able to challenge? A forward pass? A scrum feed? An illegal tackle? When can a captain challenge? A bloke makes a break but is run down. The defence is in complete disarray, the attacking side is all set to stroll in for the match winning try - and the defensive team captain calls a challenge! This gives time for his side to get set defensively, they go on to win the game and if it's a GF, we have a bigger scandal than the " 6 again" on Sunday night.

I don’t see how stopping the game for five minutes with ten to go for the refs to say “we got the decision right” improves the situation at all? Captain’s challenge is a band aid fix and does nothing to improve the quality of the decision making and runs the risk of slowing the game to a crawl. Try scoring situations already get looked at. A lot of decisions like strips as an example are so 50/50 that I can’t see the video ref overturning many of them at all. I’m not anti captains challenge, just suspicious and need to see far more testing to see the impact it has on the game and if it has any impact on the quality of decision making
