'Get some facts': Trent Robinson fires up over Angus Crichton questions

By The Roar / Editor

Don’t ask Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson if there’s something to Angus Crichton’s role change this year.

The 23-year-old who made a name for himself with the Rabbitohs and the Blues as an edge back-rower has been used off the bench in the middle in recent weeks in his first year with the Roosters.

Crichton and his coach have assured media it is simply about developing the young forward’s game and helping the team as they look to bounce back from a three-point loss to the North Queensland Cowboys – the reigning premiers’ fifth defeat from their last seven matches.

However, Robinson is getting sick of the speculation that Crichton isn’t pleased with the switch, firing up when asked if his player will see out his contract with the club.

Crichton signed a three-year deal with the Roosters that sees him tied to the club until the end of the 2021 season.

Why do you think the Bunnies didn't get into a bidding war with the Roosters to retain him. He's a solid back rower nothing more. Could never understand the money Politis threw at him to lure him over. Looks like even Uncle Nick makes mistakes lol. Suck it up.

He was a dynamo at the Bunnies. Coen Hess took a similar dive in form from his first year , you don't really notice either of them now.

Easily the worst signing of the year; Been a huge disappointment since day 1; Doesn’t seem to be offering; the other day one of the forwards made a half break looked to his left where Creighton should have been.. but he had stopped supporting... I don’t think hes enjoying his footy, will be plying his trade with the Waratahs next year!

'' He's happy here and we're happy with him" I'd hate to see how poorly a highly paid player has to be before they're unhappy with him. Similar sentiment expressed when Bennett, Roberts and Nikorima were shown the door , happy meals all round. These silly journalists were told in no uncertain terms that they had to listen to the Broncos when they said Bennett would definitely be the coach in 19. When will they learn?

Ha....me thinks Robbo is protesting a bit too much there. Sounds like Angus is gone to me. I wonder if Paul Kent will ark up and call Robbo a liar when he is moved on in the off season lol.

I guess all they’re really asking albeit a blunt way is ‘what’s going on here ?’ Angus has gone from one of the best edge runners in the game to losing his spot in the Blues team, a huge half time coach spray, losing his right edge to Mitch Aubusson...and from an 80 min. player to last weeks abysmal 37 mins on field time, with no Cordner to contend with.. Robbo talks a better game than any coach in the NRL..but something’s out of kilt..

They really do have small brains. After he said it's all false one of them actually asked where this speculation came from....

You hit the nail on the head Robbo. The journo's covering rugby league are basic people. "get some facts or get over it" I think was his quote. This could be applied to every story James Hooper has written in 2018/2019.
