Give it a rest. The guys has been punished, Paid restitution and gone to counciling. Some one who has made mistakes and turned his life around would be an ideal captain imo.

What do you expect Boyd to say? He is a teammate. Boyd should keep his mouth shut as he's not even certain of a place in the team next year. Made as many tackles as Alfie last season.
I don't have a problem with him. There's lots of bad boys who have rehabilitated. Look at Tetevano , the easts fans didn't want a bar of him yet he's turned out all right. Don't worry next year the fans will find some one to hate.
totally agree BD. My issue with Lodge is, he such a divisive figure. Clearly a talented footballer, but his previous actions resonate with lots of people I suspect.
I've got no problem with Boyd offering that opinion of Mat Lodge - just as long as it's not shared by the coach and the Club's administrators. It would be a seriously poor decision to make Lodge captain of a Club that has enough on-field issues to deal with.
Seriously Lodge is the last person ,one would want as team Captain.
That position is supposedly one held in a higher esteem ,where players under their charge look up to the captain and follow some on field directions.In addition he has a commitment to sponsors and a relationship with fans.
If the Broncos are that naive or lacking understanding of the sensitivity of their fans and indeed other NRL fans, and the need to bring in new fans, they deserve what they sow.They appear to be out of touch with reality.
