Should Tariq Sims have been penalised for this knee?

By The Roar / Editor

It left Tiger Jacob Liddle dazed and he went off for a HIA moments later.

I agree with you. Im not making a case for Sims. I think it started as Sims falling backward but when Liddle came in he lifted his knee...

If he wasn't looking at his head while he did it you may have a case.

Yeah I know what you mean, he was tipping backwards and I think his leg started to come up to balance himself. But it also seemed like Sims exaggerated the movement as Liddle came in to make the tackle…

I've had a good look at it and I'd say it's the defenders lifting action on Sims which was the catalyst for his knee being raised. He was lifted and dragged backwards and the knee coming up is a natural reaction I believe .

The other incident which was an accidental head knock which should have seen the player leave the ground for assessment was Alvaro who took a heavy knock and bleeding profusely. Where was the NRL and their care of duty.

Yes, absolutely. This was so deliberate it wasn't funny. If you let this go expect to see a lot more people being "accidentally" kneed in the head while attempting to make a tackle. I find it incredible nothing happened about this on the night.
