Thing is Paul, as soon as a player rubs the back of his head it immediately puts doubt in the refs mind and as you point out, endless slow motion replays make it worse than it is. Anyway I'm off to Suncorp, up the Saints. :thumbup:
I think they thought Townsend was already playing for the Cowboys. Get use to it Chad it won’t surprise you wearing the jersey next year. We had 5 on report in 15min last week.
I'm not sure I agree about the Townsend report Andrew.
The ref wasn't left with a lot of choice I don't think. The other officials thought it warranted the games being stopped and once that happened and the incident was seen in slow motion (which often makes it look worse than it is), he was left with no choice but to put it on report - especially given the edict he and his mates were given before the round started.
In some sports there is a fine and penalty for "staging". Commentators should NOT blast the officials, they should be blasting the player for taking a dive. And Walker has form for taking a dive. Perhaps he and Benji should play together, oh hang on they do!!!! Perhaps they are coached to dive.
Again blast the players not the officials.
Players grabbing the back of their heads after a tackle, milking a penalty is the new “slow the game ” ploy. Chad Townsend being put on report for that is embarrassing.
