The judiciary change Paul Gallen thinks the NRL needs as Kikau ban looms

By The Roar / Editor

‘For a player to be missing a semi-final for a tackle like that, I think it’s way too harsh.’

Perhaps we should follow AFL and nobody gets sent off just reported. In a GF Gal and his caged mate Bird could create carnage and miss a few games the following year. Gal is like Anthony Mundine. He opens his mouth and the wind blows his tongue around. Not to be taken seriously by anybody with a grain of intelligence.

I think there should be an option to offset minor suspensions from semi finals or rep games Perhaps – just perhaps – players can have their existing carryover points disregarded in during the final series, but no way should indiscretions on the field be watered down during a finals series.

Problem is that you couldn't even get away with that in Gallen's day. He's just a thug who Channel 9 give airtime cause his thug views bring in ratings.

Should be 20 or 3 weeks for this. Out for the season anyway. JWH gets off for a head high. Does that surprise?

Clearly an unpopular opinion but I half agree with Gallen I think there should be an option to offset minor suspensions from semi finals or rep games...I just don’t think this tackle is a good example It was a lifting tackle, hand between the legs and sent the attacking player right up and over. Pretty dangerous and the fact we’re talking 0-1 week suspension is another example that the NRL is pretty soft on dangerous play

I believe the Billy rule, defence will be invoked by the Panthers. You can't suspend a Billy during an NRL finals series.

Ask Issac Luke about it...he missed a GF for the same thing. Too bad.....the tackle was totally unnecessary. Cop it and move on.

Gal is an authority on the NRL judiciary as he would be able to find his way there blindfolded. OK to pull at an opponents stitches or grab him by his orchestra stalls. Why give this dinosaur any airtime?

At what point are the dinosaurs in the game going to realise that what they got away with in their day isn't acceptable now? I know Gallen's only recently retired but the way he carries on, you'd reckon he'd played in the 70's. Kikau deliberately lifted him past the horizontal, there was no need for it and his team is likely to face the consequences.

Same crap last year.....if you don’t want to do the time, don’t do the crime...simple really.
