I believe that is one of Bennett's greatest risks. Everyone remembers Souths from this year and anything less than that will be viewed as a failure. By the time is contract is done they will have lost all the Burgi, Sutton and probably Inglis. Then it will be a perceived Newcastle situation again.
I get the feeling Bennett just might like having his name attached to a South Sydney premiership win. The history of the game its traditions is something that really appeals to Wayne. Just maybe he has a greater plan. Maybe. He tried to go to Souths several years ago.
Bennett has won how many premierships again? I have lost count and with how many different clubs. How many times in the top eight. How many has Robinson or Bellamy or Siebold won?
No wonder Bennett is smiling he doesnt give a rats what people say about him.
Its all part of the game thats NRL he has seen it all he has seen everything.
Siebold always wanted to go to Brisbane even before he got to the Rabbits.
Souths were just a stop gap for him.
He is a good coach no doubt but i think Souths players also had something to do with coming third last year.
Good old Wayne said a few days back that he would be coaching the Broncos in 19 and cited that he couldn't trust the leadership to treat his staff properly. Now he seems to have recovered from that trauma pretty well and is glad that he was sacked. Bagging the management publicly meant that he was going to be sacked but what about the poor staff Wayne?
He says he was planning to stay at the Broncos but was already involving himself in player retention at Souths. Can't see any conflict of interest there at all? Maybe the Broncos have their eyes on a Bunny or two and what was Wayne going to do about that?
You should screenshot that ‘smile’.
Cranky, past-it Bennett awkwardly lands at undermanned Souths.
This is not going to end well, I don’t think it will even start well.
Guaranteed to sell a few papers though, if only to Newscorp loyalist Rabbitoh fans.
Wayne is already having the " I'M FEELING IT" moments at the Bunnies, great things to come from the master! Btw, all you Broncos fans can have "Seibold" he's not feeling it and never ever will but, don't forget "to watch your backs' as Seibold might negotiate a contract half way through of 2020, as the Broncs wont make the 8 in 2019. Go Bunnies!!!
Jokes by only the loosest definition of the term.
Watching Wayne trying to smile and laugh is an awkward, uncomfortable and mildly horrifying experience.
