Well said BA. At some point these players have to have some respect shown. Even if they are not setting the world on fire but are among the performers at an under-performing club allow someone how has been loyal to your finish the season. I cannot see any monetary, young star or respectful benefit Parra will receive in doing this at this stage of the season and his career.

Since it won't be written any where else, I will get this off my chest here. Mannah is the club captain, not some fly in - fly out money mercenary. The Eels have obiously told him they won't be renewing his contract for 2020 - that is fine, understandable and perfectly valid based on the club strategy, depth, plans etc. Mannah needs to play a set number of games to automatically be eligible for a visa to play in the UK next year. He wouldn't be far off that number right now. It would appear he has been told he won't play first grade again in 2019 hence he is looking elsewhere to get those games up - Totally understandable. Mannah is currently one of the best two props at Parra. He has outperformed Alvaro, Evans and Terepo by some way. There are a couple of good young talents coming through, but Mannah is one of the best two props at the club. Simple as that. What does it say about a club, that they will screw around with the Club captain - who has stuck with them through some pretty ordinary times? Who while players are getting introuble for domestic violence, drink driving, playing 4th grade rugby on days off, getting in shootings and sexaul assault allegations - not to mention the Board Room corruption - has always carried himself impeccably. Why would any player go to the Eels if this is what you do to a guy who has done everything right by them for over a decade? In my opinion they have just added $100k to any player of quality they were looking to recruit because that club clearly doesn't care what you do for them. And that it is a decion led by a guy who played a similar number of games at one club (technically 2 after the merger) in Mark O'Neill makes it even more bemusing to me.

Bit of a predicament for both clubs. Wests with Packer and Matulino who are on a combined $1 million and can't crack a spot and Mannah moved on because they have to fit Mitchell Moses in. Although mannah's best is behind him and on $300k I wouldn't have him at my club.

Tim Mannah by almost every metric has been one of the Eels best forwards - granted in an ordinary pack. Far better than Alvaro, far better than Terepo and far, far better than Evans. That is one of the more perplexing parts of this.

Benny makes two good points, we've paid for a oldie who's rejected by a club in the bottom 8, rather than looking for younger longer-term contracts, from winning clubs. I agree totally with both points. However, they did beat us by 50.. And this guy is a keen player, it's round 13 and we need forwards who show up to play 100% and we only had limited funds available so... Yeah because it's only for the rest of the bring him on! Let him start this weekend and see if Maguire backed a winner

Hilarious ,,,seriously Benny , Robbie Farrah & Benji Marshall like how old are they? , give us a break....Look what their experience has produced for the club, when they are playing the Tiges look more likely to win a game than when they are not. Mannah is a great defender which is more than you can say for Mahe the Mullet

Is it just me or does Benny seem to be rocking the turn of the century preppie look with his popped collar.

Get a first grade ready prop for the rest of the year for cheap sounds all right to me. Mannah hasn't been terrible, I thought last year and his start to this year has been solid. The Tigers have Packer on the sideline for who knows how long, they lose another middle forward and they'll be lacking some serious go forward. He's there to fill a gap for the rest of this year and that's it. Its not like they're signing him to a 3 year deal.

Rather than all the fuss about Benny making a comment I'd be more worried about buying a prop past use by date who to be honest is struggling to make second grade. Replace one low achiever with one from another club. I hate to say it Benny may have a point.

The reporters must fall over themselves when Benny finds a camera. He calls himself a club man but he has to face Mannah around the club. Tim, being the guy he is, will forgive him but that still makes Benny a d!(k for saying it.

If Benny says it is a bad idea, it must be a brilliant move.

Naturally Bennie's in the know about Madge's plans for the squad over the coming years - NOT. Elias was a great footballer who's better off saying nothing, then offering an opinion.
