Harry, big problems with that merger. Just to think of a couple: (a) Moana is funded by NZRU whereas Rebels coin comes from RA (b) look at the miserable crowd that Moana attracted as a home game, would you get more if you had half the side as Aussie players? and of course the reverse is true also; would the Rebels' crowds increase with a few Pasifika players in the team? (c) where would they train and the club house? Melbourne, Auckland or share cities? and finally (d) if share cities the players and coaching team would have a zillion Frequent Flyer points after 1 season, so who pays those air fares?

Any Aussie team winning in NZed is a good thing. I'm just happy for the players.

First off fair comment and I agree Mirt. Someone has to be in the bottom four. As long as they put in their best and fight hard for it, that is good enough for me. People who get caught up in the fact and make derogatory remarks about a team because that team is not in the top four just enjoy coming out to put the boot in. And Mirt I am not talking about your comment which is fair enough… just some of the derogatory nonsense we hear on this site bugs me a bit. For a long time and quite a few years the Chiefs were bottom four along with the Bulls and they were both teams with a lot bigger catchment area than the Rebels have in terms of playing numbers.

At least the crowd would be bigger in Melbourne. And that’s saying something!

yeah, tipped the Rebels by 5. :silly: And STOP the competition now, Melbourne Rebels have hit the front on the SRP leader board. Wouldn't that be nice, the Burn Boyz win the comp just as RA boot the franchise in the goolies.

Could someone not have told him to lose the chewy?

I’d add LSL and Josh Canham to that. I thought the defence on Kellaway’s wing was a bit ordinary to let a soft try in. Not blaming him as I don’t think they were drifting accurately, but getting caught in no-man’s land like that from a senior player is not a good look. He should have been calling them out a lot earlier.

He is cruising atm in my opinion. At least he wasn't dropping f-bombs this week.

I would hope that serious considertion is given to merging Moana and the Rebels if, as seems likely, the Rebels as a stand alone proposition can't continue. Bring in a 12th team from either Argentina or Japan.

Could the Media Manager, Coach or team manager have a chat with Bella. Mate you will be interviewed after the game. Lose the chewy. Not hard. No wonder they are going out the back door

Two recent years cellar dwellers, that’s about the standard I’d expect. Can’t see either avoiding the bottom four, but it’s early season yet

He was nearly side on as in trying a shoulder charge. Wrapping was an afterthought.

80:00 - Penalty to Moana Pasifika. The Siren goes but Havili will have the opportunity to earn Moana Pasifika a well earned bonus point. No mistake there. Moana Pasifika 23 - 29 Rebels.
