T'was a cracking pass, but a kick may have allowed the receiver to get another 3 or 4 m ahead when he caught it. That said, Quade is class and kudos to him for even trying it.
To be fair to Laith, there was Cheika’s long term shunning, followed by Thorn’s, then a popular mass shunning by the ‘ABC’s – punters who only woke up to the necessity of a broad-skill playmaker after we had installed a grown up coaching regime.
We have appropriate compliments to a playmaker now-
– a proper wrecking ball runner at 12, as well as a stepping/punchy option in reserve 12 shirt
– some ‘don’t argue’ in the back, 2nd and fat row
Proper playmaker with proper compliments. We should win a few with that mix.
Oh that’s right …..we did.
And I’d bet a pound to a peanut that Rennie has put attacking kick catches on the list of KPI’s for the back 3.
The fun has only just begun with young Quade- just a kid with a crazy dream.
:silly:
Yeah like with most cutout passes, they give the defence a chance to drift. I thought the winger who received it could have taken the tackle and offloaded to the guy inside, and they were away.
Actually James, I thought it had a tad too much hang time. A sharp test winger with a torpedo tackle may have read that and nailed the catcher.
But in case anyone misinterprets, Quade is my Wallaby 10, every time.

Sharp thought there Phil. There’s more ‘gridiron’ advantage in a kick than a pass. In any event, it won’t just be the flash that wins us the cash.

I didn't see them on the EOYT. RA obviously didnt want them or RA couldnt afford to give them a great offer that world class players deserve.

The Wallabies don't want Cooper or Kerevi (or Koroibete)? Have you been hiding under a rock lately?

It's one thing to want to throw that pass. It's another to have the skill to do it well when it's on.
