After your post I looked again at that part of the footage. Does look like the contract was shoulder to head. Still don't think it was intentional but that element may not determine the outcome. The standards need to change. In the 7's there is no tolerance for high contract. It will be a difficult transition and I'm not sure the RWC is the place to change the culture of contract.
I’m laughing so much, it does hurt.....but the trouble is , they don’t realise that they are a comedy act n it is all done with a straight face.....with probably fart noises in the background in the studio which we don’t hear n luckily can’t smell.
You and hodge are allowed to make any silly claims you and he want to.....If thats his defence it will be all over for him for this WC...keep making silly claims...its entertaining...Hodge should have get YCed......it will cost him more now than 10 mins would have...
You’re right but as an Aussie supporter I think Hodge could claim his tackle was a very similar incident and ask why only one of the shoulder charge incidents was cited. Might help his defence, I hope.
Both Kearns and Cheika need to mature and take a moment to consider matters more deeply before they speak. Imagine if Radraja had made the same tackle on Pocock and he was concussed, left the field and missed the next game. It's sad to say it but I reckon Radradra would have been instantly carded.
I've looked at this several times. I'll admit 2 biases. 1. Head high tackles need to be addressed consistently to keep the players as safe as possible and to protect the future of the game. 2. I've never seen Hodge play dirty. I don't think that's his game.
First. To me Hodge looked like he was trying to wrap both his arms around the player though the force of the contact bounced him off. I cannot agree at all that he made no attempt to use his arms. If that's the basis of any penalty I think it would be very unfair, though there is a chance this will be used to set the example.
Second. Hodge did not attack the head of the player. Their heads collided as a result of the tackle that started below shoulder level.
As I said, the game was stopped so Marx could get treatment and there were 3 replays of it straight away. No need to search through hours of video it was clear as day at the time.
Probably the fact you spent hours trying to find any incident in super slow mo you could hold up as evidence of AB thuggery when no one else noticed it despite being under intense scrutiny thanks to cheerleaders like Kearns.
14min 50sec into the AB’s vs Boks game and Joe Moody shoulder charges Malcom Marx in the side of the face. Marx is hurt and the game is stopped so he can get treatment to his jaw. So what is the difference between the Hodge and Moody incidents? Same offence but different outcomes in my opinion.
Glad to see everyone commentating sees him for the fool he is, biased changes rules interpretations to suit his own agenda. He makes it sound like the wallabies are the bullies victims of a world rugby agenda and that the all blacks are given a free ride, i for one am sick of it.
And next to them is the political reporter from Sky News. I hear the guy from the shopping channel is being rested but will be making his appearance soon. Can’t wait.

Yes things were missed both ways. One of the high tackles on Savea almost garotted him. Clear yellow, probably red.
