Match preview:

Adelaide United take on Brisbane Roar in Round 17 A-League action. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:50pm (AEDT).

The Reds picked up four points last week, with a come from behind win against the Mariners and a dull draw with Perth Glory in the west. It was another pleasing week for Marco Kurz and his men.

The attacking issues they appeared to be experiencing have lessened with George Blackwood and Ken Ilso providing something of a focus point up front.

This allows Nikola Mileusnic and Craig Goodwin to play a little wider and not feel like the primary avenues to goal.

They are providers and with Ben Halloran also sniffing around opposition boxes, an Adelaide team that creates chances from the flanks using their speed and agility is a dangerous proposition for any A-League defence.

The signing of Jordy Thomassen will further improve the situation when he eventually makes his debut.

Brisbane had another less than pleasing week. With only one game on the schedule, they should have started well against the Wanderers and made life difficult for the visitors.

Instead they played poorly, despite grabbing a point after two late goals levelled things up at 2-2.

It was another stunning capitulation for the Wanderers rather than any sparkling play from Brisbane, yet tonight they climb back on the horse with another chance for victory against the in-form Reds in Adelaide.

In team news, Mirko Boland comes back in for the home side and in a much-needed boost for the visitors Thomas Kristensen, Jacob Pepper, Eric Bautheac and Matt McKay all return.

Prediction
I cannot see anything but a home victory in this one. Adelaide look to be building well and Brisbane seem destined for the wooden spoon this season.

Nothing about this match suggests that the northerners will be able to topple the Reds today.

Great game, great sport, great theatre - this is what the A-League should use as advertising.

Completely agree nick. Tonight has been epic. Gosford delivered, and Adelaide took it to another level. And to think we have had 18 goals in the first three games this round. That's more goals than most AFLW rounds.

Brisbane lost the match but ones who the real losers were the ones who were watching the AFLW at Norwood Oval who missed it. About as much atmosphere as an undertakers convention over there. What a great match at Hindmarsh though!

Full time Well, Adelaide for the win, with a pulsating and utterly unmissable 4-3 win over the 9 men of Brisbane. Ken Ilso was sent off early, and Brisbane took a 3-nil lead into the end of the first half with goals to Henrique, Taggart, and Wenzel-Halls. The free kick, under controversial circumstances, to Isaias to end the first half, was ultimately the turning point. The second point was even more action packed, as Dane Ingham and Jamie Young were both marched with red cards, and from there, Adelaide were always going to be the only winner. Goals to Goodwin, Blackwood, and a last minute winner to Mileusnic, turned a 3-goal deficit into a famous 1-goal win for the Reds. D'Agostino with the final chance of the game to steal back a point for Brisbane, but it was not to be, the capitulation was complete. A famous win for Adelaide, historic in so many senses. Thank you for joining us for one of the most incredible games you will ever witness. Adelaide - 4 Brisbane - 3

I’m hearing on Foxsports that this is only the second time in HAL history that a team has come from 3 nil down to win.

99'- D'AGOSTINO WITH THE LAST SHOT OF THE GAME, AND HE SHOOTS ... HE'S PUT IT WIDE!!!!!!!!! Brisbane could have stolen a point, but he misses the target from a spot that he should have hit the sweet spot. Adelaide - 4 Brisbane - 3

98‘- Armiento with the cross, Mileusnic with the finish, and Adelaide with the party. The crowd, gone from booing, to raptures. Brisbane should be inconsolable. Adelaide – 4 Brisbane – 3

96'- Jakobsen and Darren Davies tangle on teh sideline, and I reckon Jakobsen has assaulted Davies there. Anyway, Adelaide player dives for a perfect ten in the area, that should be a card when play stops. Adelaide - 3 Brisbane - 3

96'- 2 minutes left. Armiento sends in a bullet cross, it goes through everyone in the six yard box, and bounces off a trailing boot from Mileusnic! I thought that was a goal to be honest. Adelaide - 3 Brisbane - 3

95'- Elsey meets the Goodwin cross, and he hangs in the air, his header is at the goal, but it's over the crossbar. White with some more goal kick practice. Adelaide - 3 Brisbane - 3
