Perth Glory welcome the Newcastle Jets to HBF Park on Sunday evening in Round 25 of the 2018-19 A-League season. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 7pm (AEST).

Perth Glory could make history tonight and clinch the Premiership with two games to spare.

If Sydney FC fail to beat Wanderers in the Derby on Saturday, Glory will lift their first piece of Hyundai A-League silverware with a win.

Glory boss Tony Popovic would love to get the job done tonight in front of a joyous home crowd. And the chance to rest key players ahead of the finals would come as an added bonus.

Newcastle Jets hopes of a finals place are slim to no-chance, but they did prevail in a five-goal-thriller against Western Sydney last weekend.

As far as the head-to-head goes, Glory enjoy this fixture, having lost just two of the last 22 clashes between the clubs.

Prediction
Because of what it could potentially mean, the Glory players (and fans) will need to control their nerves and excitement.

Newcastle definitely have a goal in them, as they proved in Round 24. This may not be straight forward, but Glory should still have too much for the Jets.

Perth Glory 2 – 1 Newcastle Jets

Some emotional scenes at HBF Park as Perth Glory take the win they needed with an Ivan Franjic second half strike. A fully deserved Premiers Plate for Tony Popovic and his squad. Glory will be tough to stop in the Grand Finals but with football, you just never know. For now, the Glory players, staff and fans can enjoy this special moment, before preparing for their away game at Sydney FC on Thursday. Newcastle Jets played well tonight but just ran out of steam towards the end. Roy O'Donovan was inches away from scoring a sublime goal in the first half. Ernie Merrick takes his side to Brisbane Roar in Round 26. Have a great week and a very happy Easter. Goodnight.

As a Sydney FC fan, I want to congratulate Perth Glory. They have played great attacking football over the course of this season and it is great to see how happy they are to win some silverware. That being said, I really hope we smash them on Thursday!

90+2' Goalkeeper Liam Reddy is trying to eat up precious seconds for Glory as he launches a big kick down field. After a frantic minute the ball is back with Liam Reddy. A Brimmer mistake lets Vargas in but the forward can't get any power on his shot. Perth Glory 1 – 0 Newcastle Jets

89' All 11,000 pairs of eyes will be on the fourth official in a minute. How much added time will there be? It might not be safe to say it yet, but Glory look good for this now. Perth Glory 1 – 0 Newcastle Jets

88' Keogh is slightly isolated as Glory take the foot off the gas. No need to throw men forward now. Davidson finally makes way after another strong performance. Ferreira is on.

85' The job is not done yet for Glory and Davidson certainly won't want to come off. He is back out there. 5 mins to go.
