The weekend’s A-League action continues as Wellington Phoenix look to string consecutive wins together against Perth Glory at WIN Stadium. Stay up to date with their A-League clash with live scores on The Roar from 4:05pm (AEDT).
Just four days after being sent to the bottom of the ladder by Melbourne Victory, Wellington climbed back into 11th with a 2-0 upset win over the Newcastle Jets on Sunday. It was just their second win of the season, but it was still an encouraging statement after the bitter disappointment of Wednesday.
Standing in their way, however, is an in-form Perth outfit looking to get back on track after their three-match winning run was broken by Central Coast on Tuesday. The Glory have been in mostly excellent form since they started the season in a splutter and are on a quest to use their games in hand to make a serious assault on the top of the ladder.
Kick-off time: 4:05pm (AEDT)

I think we are heading in the right direction, Its a shame our import striker is a dud however the young Kiwi Waine has scored twice now in consecutive games and he can only get better with more confidence.

Scoring freely? Today Glory didn’t score and on Tuesday they only scored one despite a plethora of chances. I think the other teams have worked them out.

If there's even been a bandwagon it's been a short lived one, most people had Perth near the bottom at the start of the season. You're right that their defence is their Achilles heel. They're very leaky in defence but have still had some good results because they've been sharp in attack. They well definitely be a threat however. They've got games in hand, plenty of home games to finish the season and the best attack in the league.

I don't see anyone off the bandwagon. If there is a bandwagon it's been a short lived one; most people had Perth near the bottom for their predictions at the start of the year. This game was an odd one and i wouldn't read much in to it. I don't think I've ever seen a team completely dominate for 90 minutes and lose by 3 goals. You're right that their defence is their Achilles heel. They've been scoring freely this year, but leaky in defence. They've got games in hand, a home run to finish the season and the best attack in the league so they'll be near the top at the end.

"Glory are going to be a threat" etc etc looks like everyones off this bandwagon. I had them missing the 6 at the start of the year and that has altered. Defence will always be the Achilles heel

Normally if these 2 clubs where to meet halfway you would probably end up somewhere like Wollongong :silly:

Phoenix are desperate for a win. A draw wouldn’t even be an option for Wellington. However, after Perth’s defeat to CCM last week, Glory will be fuming. Expect fireworks!
