Perth Glory travel to AAMI Park for a Friday night A-League Men’s clash against Western United. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:45pm (AEDT).

With a point already in the bank after a tightly fought draw with the Reds last week, Glory will want to hit the ground running on their away trip.

Western United are yet to open their account, losing in the opening round to a classy header in their Melbourne Derby against the Victory.

Both teams had decent periods within those fixtures. United created plenty of moments in the second half where a goal seemed likely, yet failed to produce the polish up top to complete promising lead up work. Too much weight of expectation did appear to fall on Alessandro Diamanti, with Connor Pain equally dangerous on the left-hand side of attack.

Perth’s opening fixture of the season produced a bumper crowd, with all the talk around Daniel Sturridge’s debut. The fans got to see him in action for a little over five minutes, yet Richard Garcia will likely extend that this week, as the Englishman builds slowly towards full fitness.

The Glory had little possession against Adelaide in that match and seemed unlikely to score, barring a Bruno Fornaroli moment, which he dutifully produced. Avoiding that ‘Fornaroli or bust’ scenario will be key for Perth this season and up against a fairly settled Western United team, the manager will be expecting to see a little more quality than his chargers produced last week.

Is he really 37 or 38? He still plays with such energy and obvious talent. He's a joy to watch.

And such a shame they can't play more at home. A good effort by their team last night in quite a good game. Full credit to them for travelling away from home for so long to keep our competition going and I hope they can accumulate some points on the road

Wyndham United would be my preference but at least we know where Western Melbourne is

Good to see Wenzel-Halls on the score sheets so early in the season, hope he does well this season.

Your not that bloke from Adelaide who pretended they were an Adelaide United fan and spent 30 hours on a bus to spend a few hours in Sydney because the bus tickets were 10 bucks.

Yes the only thing Perth really have going for them at the moment is their attack, which needs at least one of those two guys.

That ball looked out, all the Perth defenders stopped. I'd like to see a replay.

First replay looked like that was out but it's not like Paramount+ are going to give us a replay. My last day of 7 day free trial and that will be that.

Fornaroli probably BOG at the moment. I was a bit worried looking at their list tonight, but he's doing a good job as captain.
