The Parramatta Eels have denied the reports made by Nine News that star player Semi Radradra intends to leave the club and play rugby union in France.
The Eels issued this short statement tonight:
The Parramatta Eels can confirm that Semi Radradra has been granted permission to return to Fiji for a short family visit during the bye round.
He is expected to return to Sydney in time to prepare for the club’s next NRL game against Cronulla.
Semi Radradra is contracted to play for the Parramatta Eels until the end of the 2017 season, and has given no indication that the contract will not be honoured.
Nine News reported earlier tonight that Radradra had walked out on the club, and intended to break his contract with the goal of playing rugby union in France.
The Nine News report said that Radradra flew to Fiji earlier today and informed the Eels that he has no intentions of returning to Australia to continue playing in the NRL.
Radradra is contracted for next year. Nine News reported that the Eels are seeking to reach a compromise with him which will allow him to spend some time playing in France, on the condition that he makes an extended commitment to Parramatta.
The reported deal would see Radradra permitted to play overseas from August to April, but only if he agrees to a three-year contract with the Eels.
Radradra’s departure, should it eventuate, would be another blow to the Eels in what has been a torrid, difficult year.

That's right, he was under contract. If he was sacked Parra would have had to pay him out, which defeated the purposes of moving him. For him to move he would have to have consented. if it was that easy Farah wouldn't still be a Tiger

No but i know Sisa personally and he told me he was paid really poorly at Storm and wanted to go to France while playing for that club but held on due to family commitments..

Semi is paid well in parramatta, i can bet you that he won't leave..of all the fijians that played NRL, he is is the highest paid..sisa waqa left cause storm refused to top his salary and instead paid out more to the others in storms backline, he went to raiders but decided he can earn twice more in france playing union (his background), same for his replacement Koroibete..if vunivalu has an ounce of brain, he would leave too... storm underpays Fijians, its a FACT....eels have never had a fijian so if they chopped off his salary, he might get pissed...unlike other NRL players, he needs the money, he has a huge family to feed back home...
