3: Jordan Lewis – Absolutely sensational work from the stand-in skipper. Racked up a game-high 31 disposals, 11 clearances, five inside 50s and a crucial late goal.

2: James Sicily – A five-goal haul, to go along with a game-high three contested marks and 13 touches at 85 per cent efficiency. A dominant display from the young forward.

1: Robbie Tarrant – Defenders don’t often get enough credit, but Tarrant was superb all evening. 26 disposals, seven rebound 50s, six marks and ten one-percenters.

3: Mitch Robinson – 39 touches, ten clearances and a goal was a huge performance from Robinson, continuing the good form he’s shown since moving to Brisbane eighteen months ago.

2: Mark LeCras – LeCras like the Eagles has been criticised a bit this year for playing poorly away from home, but he answered those critics pretty well with a four-goal haul.

1: Josh J Kennedy – A bag of five goals was another vintage performance from the reigning Coleman medallist.

3: Michael Barlow – 43 touches and two crucial goals when the game was on the line in the 3rd quarter. Absolutely outstanding.

2: Lachie Neale – 38 touches is standard fare for Neale these days. While his disposal wasn’t always effective, he won a truckload of contested footy.

1: Matthew Pavlich – Wound back the clock with seven marks and four goals. Could have easily kicked six.

Western Bulldogs 43 defeated by Geelong Cats 100

3: Patrick Dangerfield – 85 possessions in last two weeks. Brilliant again tonight with 37 disposals, 19 contested, nine clearances.

2: Joel Selwood – Along with Dangerfield, played a huge part in setting this win up with a great first half.

1: Corey Enright – 93 per cent disposal efficiency and just cleaned up in the back half, rarely made a mistake.

Sydney Swans 86 defeated Melbourne Demons 31

3: Jarrad McVeigh – 25 touches, eight rebound 50s, nine tackles and a goal assist – the Sydney co-captain was in some of his best form.

2: Dean Towers – A breakout game from this inexperienced Swan, he had 27 touches, kicked two goals and gave two goal assists.

1: Lance Franklin – The wet conditions didn’t bother Buddy who booted four goals and also did the tough stuff with seven tackles.

Essendon Bombers 90 defeated by GWS Giants 117

3: Toby Greene – Growing in stature every week, Toby but the Dons to the sword with four goals including a few late ones to put the result beyond doubt. 22 touches and seven inside 50s too.

2: Stephen Coniglio – 29 touches, eight clearances, seven inside 50s, three goal assists and a goal of his own – prolific.

1: David Zaharakis – Continued his good form this year with 25 touches, six clearances and a goal assist.

Leaderboard

Patrick Dangerfield is back in the solo lead after another big performance, and just between you and me, I reckon barring injury he’s an absolute lock for the Brownlow. However, he’s only one vote ahead of teammate Joel Selwood here, and three ahead of Dustin Martin who has a game in hand.
