Someday in the future Wallabies fans will have to stop celebrating Saturday’s win over the All Blacks and move on… but it is not this day.
The results are in from our DIY voted player ratings – thanks for all who tossed us their votes! – and they are almost unanimously positive.
The highest votes ultimately went to Sean McMahon with and 8.2, but Lukhan Tui deserves a hand with an average rating of 7.07 coming off the bench.
Bernard Foley (4.88) and Rob Simmons (5.12) were the ones who copped relatively low ratings, but generally speaking the fans rated these performances better than any others this year.
Check out the full results below and let us know what you thinking in the comments.

One of my other interests is bridge (the card game). This is how votes are tallied and displayed on one site: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4b_BV4F3GhEV19zUC1Ya1FhN3c https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4b_BV4F3GhERElnRW1Pb0pnRFk Hope the links work ... No idea about the software used.

McMahon my MoM. Sure he coughed up one and couldn't scrag Ioane but he was in the middle of everything, a tower of strength.

The penalty wasn't all him but the 10m backchat was costly.

Ther best 10 in Australia has most probably being playing NRC this year not Wallabies (and no I'm not talking about Cooper). As in other positios here is a lot of young talent out there. If only Cheika would take off his sky blue glasses.

Foley is not my first choice for 10, but he adds courage and commitment every time. These things count when a game is on the line. He is a brave customer. This truth wont stop me wishing for a Cooper resurrection though.

Yeah he did some good things, but also 2 bad things for every one of those.

No I haven’t, but the Ch 10 commentary said during the game that he was fine, so I suspect (and hope) it was nothing that lingered. Never like to see a player leave in a neck brace.

tsuru, no I don’t need the numbers to tell me that :)

Exactly. Some people talk of a concerted agenda against Foley, but he was hands down the worst Wallabies player on Saturday night, played one of his worst games of Test rugby ever, and still almost gets a pass mark.

4.88 for Foley ??? that was in his top 5 worst games in his career and he gets 4.88?? Turn it up

Does anybody know how Simmons is doing, or even what, exactly, his injury was? I haven't seen any reference to it since the game.

Do you really mean you don't already know the favourites and the whipping boys, Dave? I won't insult you by listing them, but, as you say, there are a few cases where the mean has been dragged down or up just from the figures we can see here. Hooper's average is 7.3 but his median is 8 for example. Beale's average 5.8, but median 5. But I guess we shouldn't get too picky after such a good match.

but locks with a high work rate , who also have a physicality to them and make an impact like Coleman and Tui quite rightly are valued far more than a grinder with little physical impact like Simmons

Simmons is one of those players that is hard to mark if you don't devote a lot of time to studying his play. His value is in the set pieces and general work rate, rather than making damaging runs and big hits. Players who do their work off the ball are harder to notice. A player who spends 80% of the game out of position and creates difficulty for their teammates, but makes a couple of line breaks or scores a try will always outrank a player who does their job with few errors without making flashy plays.

Wallabies beat All Blacks in wet conditions. Would have thought that result would be a decade away last year. The forwards are showing some starch finally, and we are bloody fit. Had also wiritten them off against England and considered Scotland favourites at home. Not so sure now.

Should choose the median rather than the average

Don't worry. "John" always scores Izzy at 11.
