Ben Cousins has been arrested again after allegedly being found with 13 grams of methylamphetamine during a disturbance at a house in Perth.
The former West Coast Eagles footballer, 40, was taken into custody at a house in Canning Vale on Tuesday night and charged with possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply, making threats to injure, endanger or harm a person and two counts of breaching a violence restraining order.
Cousins, of no fixed address, will appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court later on Wednesday.

People with mental health issues or personality disorders are notorious for "self medicating" with drugs and alcohol. So which comes first, the mental issue or the drugs? Quite often, they cannot be separated.

You have know idea what addiction is. The addict has to hit rock bottom, admit that he's there, and then ask for help. And if he's lucky enough and tough enough, he can make it through to the other side. Either way, public shaming doesn't do a damn thing except make the public feel superior.

Is putting a glass pipe to your mouth an involuntary reaction? No. He chose to do it. You pointed me to that resource. What are you insinuating about Cousins?

Dexamphetimine would of likely been what he was scripted, not that big of a jump.

QED. Read/watch Turning Tina and get back to me. If you want to have a nuanced debate about the problem I'd be happy to, but if you're just going to present your opinion in the form of slogans this will be my last post on this topic.

You cross a chasm in going from low dose prescribed Ritalin to Ice TTF - probably best to keep to your expert analysis in the art of boxing.

Envy ridden comments from people annoyed that Cousins frittered away a life they themselves would have given their right testicle for are utterly pointless observations. No-one is jealous of his life. He's lived in a bubble of footy, sycophants and drugs. That's the entire scope of his life in a nutshell. But he made his choices and we must be held accountable for our choices.

If you don't want to be a drug addict, stop putting drugs into your body. He has complete agency over the choice to use drugs. The meth doesn't end up in the glass pipe by accident. Yes, he might have cravings, but nothing bad will happen to him if he withstands those cravings. Just discomfort in the short term. He needs a little willpower is all. He's never had any.

What!!, your first two sentences directly contradict each other. I don't care whether you respond or not, that's entirely up to you, that's actually what this website is all about.

No matter what has been said the medical staff have always viewed week one as his return, timing it to perfection imo

When you reply to my comments specifically, I'm going to reply to you directly. You will notice I have rarely replied to you on any other occasions. If you don't wish to receive replies from me, don't reply to my comments. Envy ridden comments from people annoyed that Cousins frittered away a life they themselves would have given their right testicle for are utterly pointless observations.

Thanks for your honesty, seriously though - whether you find what I write interesting or not is not high on my agenda when posting.

Cousins was denied bail. I don’t see what your complaint is about him “walking the streets”. He is doing no such thing at present. He is in jail. I said to you once a long time ago I have no interest in anything you have to say on the subject of drugs and that view has not changed.

This is how you stop being a drug addict. You stop putting the drug into your body. Once you stop putting it in your body you cease to be a drug addict. People talk about drug addiction as though shooting/snorting up is an involuntary reaction. To obtain drugs you need money (snatch an old lady's bag, rob a house), go to the dealer, exchange money, go home, invite "friends" over, shoot up. There are numerous steps along the way from waking up deciding you want drugs today to actually putting those drugs in your body. All these actions (choices) are very deliberate and premeditated.

Public shaming doesn’t help. Of course it does. If you don't want to be shamed by the public, then stop doing drugs.

I'm more concerned about the woman and children he has repeatedly threatened to kill. You can't have someone like that walking the streets. The drugs he chose to and continually chooses to put into his body, so no sympathy for him.

Weirdly enough I am just driving pasta Lathlain and the Eagles are training- so have stopped to watch. I was at Wesley about 3 weeks ago and their gym and set up is fantastic, they have literally hundreds of photos of ex student so who have excelled across footy, crickey, hockey rowing etc. Cousins is next toGardiners in a Eagles jumper

I think you will find that the actual people who care for him are in a worse hell than a pampered selfish private school boy who was given everything and was a wonderfully talented footballer. People are entitled to an opinion, wrong or right, whatsmore maybe he does need to be trodden on to realise how lucky he was. The " such is life " boy is perhaps exactly where he wants to be. Leaving Los vegas springs to mind.
