not sure about your last sentence TIGER but certainly agree with the rest. I'd have thought playing a total of 15 rounds was plenty for this year, especially if guys have to go into lockdown without families being allowed with them

I read that teams with an 0-2 record have to win 10 from their remaining 18 games to make the finals. Tough ask for my Dragons

It will be interesting to see how player selections will be determined. Any player selected from outside the 8 will not have played for 5 or 6 weeks. Admittedly most players come from the top 8 teams but playing after the GF will require a different mind set to the usual mid season schedule. And yes Paul a good point about the weather in November for the SOO particularly in Brisbane. If the series is on consecutive weeks it will end late November and that will see a much shorter break between seasons. Perhaps the opportunity here was to play a full season with teams only playing each other once not 5 teams playing twice against possibly the top 5 teams. Bad luck for some. A professional sport based on bad luck from the draw. Total lack of integrity.

Originally, Adelaide Oval, ANZ Stadium and Suncorp Stadium are set for State of Origin Series 2020. However, with the COVID19 pandemic, this series will change dramatically. ANZ Stadium is set to be demolished in the middle of this year. Worst case scenario is If the World Cup T20 goes ahead, SCG may not be ready to host the Origin series and I think that they could shift it to either Bankwest Stadium or in AAMI Park.

agree AFL will start scrambling to get there. if the crowds are not allowed then it would be the best place to play it. as Tassie is cool all year round bar a couple days.

The AFL don't seem keen to spread the game to the Apple Isle so maybe the NRL could. That would not go down well with the folks in Melbourne. :happy:

I agree however if we can keep our active cases falling over the next 4 weeks, that should put us in a very strong position to relax the worst of those rules. The NRL did miss a trick though. It could have sent a very strong message to government and health ministers by banning JAC, Cleary & Mitchell until such time that it is safe to have fans in stadiums again. That would have inspired a lot of confidence.

This is the easy part, it is that 48 page document and how it will be received by the health people who will decide if the season restarts or not. Plus the recent imbroglio with players not keeping to the present restrictions will not help the issue.

This is the best possible outcome given the circumstances. Now hope there are no hitches.

So we're potentially a month away from a near full NRL season. To everyone that's got it this far, and I'm seriously hoping can get it all the way, that's an incredible outcome and I for one can't praise your efforts enough.
