AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan has announced significant changes to Round 11 of the season.
Speaking to the media on Thursday afternoon, McLachlan revealed the Gold Coast Suns’ clash with the Hawthorn Hawks, originally scheduled to be played in Darwin, has been moved to the SCG. It will still be played on Saturday night at 7:40pm (AEST).
The Richmond Tigers’ clash with the Adelaide Crows has also been moved from the MCG to GIANTS Stadium in Sydney, though their match has been pushed back an hour, and will begin at 2:10pm (AEST).
“We have nine games ahead in the match-ups we were planning on doing,” McLachlan said.
The only other change to the round as previously scheduled is for Port Adelaide’s match against Fremantle on Sunday, which has been moved back to a 5:20pm (AEST) start to allow umpires to travel from Western Australia.
This means the top-of-the-table clash between the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne will remain on Friday night at Marvel Stadium, despite a Demons player visiting a COVID-19 hotspot before attending training; provided all Dees players test negative to the virus. However, the Marvel Stadium roof will be open for the first time this season, to comply with the Victorian government’s protocols.

I have full respect for yourself as a supporter. Win loss or draw you’ll be on here. Our conversation/banter was removed because a certain regular poster is bitter and that’s their thing. That was my point. Have a great weekend. And for only your sake I hope your team improve and give you hope

think its chanon with the bomb shelter, ive got a chook pen i could camp in i spose ... yeah no danger of infecting anyone in the high country atm u would think, be pretty quiet up there, but its where u stop on the way there & back thats the issue ... understand we need to control this thing, just wish the various government bodies that keep stuffing this up would get their act together

That is annoying - sorry to hear that. You'd think isolating in the bush is pretty safe. Could camp in the bomb shelter?

Should win by 30 Pete, but it reminds of last year in Perth. If you win with Covid kerfuffle and Dunci and possibly Guthrie (the good one) out, it wouldn't surprise me.

Light winds and reasonable weather Yattz. How much will you win by? Good work with your tipping this year by the way. Neck to neck with your arch enemy Realist. Taylor Adams a huge out for the Pies. Let's see what Brayden Sier does against an elite midfield. Time to step up young man.

Hope everything's tied down! Still good to get out of town in any event.

Busselton albeit we'll be driving around. Hopefully the weather is better next weekend. Booked a boat ride to see some whales (treat for the 4yo, less so for dad who gets motion-sickness).

Cat's never been less than 60 points even when they played badly this year. But Bucks does bring out the worst in Scott.

I have personally requested to Gilligan that the Collingwood v Geelong game be cancelled due to concerns over everyone's mental well being in watching a game where 6 goals is likely to win the match.

Any whales there yet Don?
