Kamikamica charged by police, stood down by Storm over 'alleged incident involving a woman'

By The Roar / Editor

Melbourne have stood down Tui Kamikamica after the forward was charged by Queensland Police “over an alleged incident involving a woman outside a Brisbane hotel”.

The Storm released a statement saying the club had been informed of the charges on Thursday afternoon and subsequently “advised the NRL integrity unit immediately”.

“Due to the seriousness of the allegations, the club made the decision to stand down Kamikamica, pending his plea in response to the allegations, the NRL Integrity Unit investigation and the club concluding a formal, in-person interview with Kamikamica, who remains out of state. This will take place next week,” the statement read.

“Storm believes firmly that there is no place in the game or society for violence against women at any time, in any circumstance.

Being different, more professional and having a no dh policy does not mean that you do not have adverse events. Its how you handle them from this point forward that proves your mettle. Sometimes these incidents can be nothing more than a storm in a teacup however Tui has been charged by police which doesn't bode well. Hey Wayne, there might be another player here for you shortly!

What goes with these blokes. They earn a good living doing something they love doing and risk blowing it in a moment of stupidity.........that is if he is guilty of an offence.

Im sure Storm fans will be telling us again shortly how their club is different, more professional and has a no dh policy. Hopefully the actual incident isnt as serious as the initial reports sound.
