Have you ever run out onto the footy field, looked at the size of the opposition players grinning at you from the other side of the half way line, and wondered whether your hamstring strain was still troublesome enough to rule you out of today’s game?
It happens, believe me. I once ran out onto the field as a 16 year old in Year 11 in a game against a well-known boarding school, all 60kgs of me, only to be confronted by an opposing centre all the way from Australia’s top end who would have easily been 20 years of age, and tipped the scales at nothing less than 90kgs. Things started well as we won the toss and kicked off, but it all went downhill from there.
So for a bit of fun on a Monday I’ve put together two teams who definitely look mismatched from a height perspective. The Lanky Gang are made up of the tallest players in the NRL in each position, with the bench comprising the next tallest hooker plus the three next tallest forwards. Not one player is shorter than 185 cm tall.

Mate I had a similiar experience to you .... schoolboy footy in Wollongong ..... me probably 60kg wringing wet and playing at the back of the scrum ..... confronted by Craig Young at 15 years, 183cm and about 105kg ..... lol, most intimidating .... and he left stud marks on my chest during one tackle attempt.
