After another win in the revival of their season, the Adelaide Crows return to the Adelaide Oval to host the Fremantle Dockers on Sunday afternoon. Join The Roar for all of the action, with live scores and a blog of the match starting at 4:40pm AEST.

Adelaide defeated the Saints by 29 points on Saturday afternoon at Marvel Stadium, a second win in a row for the previously struggling Crows side.

Adelaide’s Crouch brothers found plenty of the Sherrin, while Taylor Walker found some form in front of goals with four majors.

Fremantle are also coming off a couple of consecutive wins, the latest against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night in Perth.

While it was a much closer game than most expected, the Dockers kicked away beautifully in the last term, notching up a 19-point win and finding more confidence in their game.

Brandon Matera hit the scoreboard with five goals, while David Mundy celebrated game 300 with 28 disposals and two goals.

While it’s still difficult to tell exactly what is going on with the ladder this season, Fremantle finished Round 6 in second place, with four wins and a strong percentage.

It’s a nice place to be, can they stay there?

Adelaide have made one change at selection, with Bryce Gibbs returning from illness to face the Dockers. Myles Poholke is the unlucky omission.

Jordan Gallucci, Bryce Gibbs’ replacement last Saturday, keeps his place in the side and is named on the interchange.

Fremantle will take an unchanged side to Adelaide to face the Crows.

The last time these two sides met was in Round 12, 2018, and the Dockers held off the Crows to win by three points at Optus Stadium.

Alex Pearce up against Taylor Walker is one of the key match-ups of this game; can Walker continue his form or will Pearce improve his All-Australian credentials?

Last weekend Alex Keath played a very Jeremy McGovern-like game, intercepting everything and impacting contests in the defensive half.

Fremantle have the tall forward line to hold him accountable and must, if they want their smalls to have an impact on the scoreboard too.

Prediction
Fremantle have had a good start to the season, but will find it tough in Adelaide against a solid squad, who are finding form in recent weeks.

An exciting contest awaits, but it’ll be the Crows who kick away late.

Adelaide by 19 points.

Genuinely laughed out loud at the idea that the intense, contested game played between Freo and Adelaide was a result of Lyon's "game plan". You crack me up, 13th Man.

No pup, that was rubbish football and a blight on our code.

Yep completely satisfied, just because a game is not high scoring doesn't mean it was boring. The low scoring made the game tense and the majority of crows fans will remember this game far more because of it. You can only play as well as your opposition lets you and that is true of both sides. That was finals brand footy in may.

Almost completely disagree, this was a tense enthralling game filled with competitive midfield contests. This resulted in hectic disorganised entries into the attacking zones. The umpires were relatively unobtrusive for most of the game and got it right most of the time. I agree that Pearce was excellent.

No Peter, the new rules are doing nothing to open the game, Ross instructs his players as soon as the ball is bounced all forwards to run down to the oppositions forward half and you see what happens, ugly defensive football. Freo only manage 4 goals for a game in perfect conditions ?

What about the game jonboy? You happy with a score of 7.9 winning a game of footy by three goals? I mean are we now getting suburban game scores?

Plenty of frees missed. As usual we focus more on the final quarter. Betts had his head ripped off in front of goal in the second quarter and play on was the call. Umpires were terrible tonight.

If Walker is that overrated then Pearce’s performance is no longer as impressive.

It is how Ross likes the game played, he forgot about the style they played against North in round 1

I was at game it reverted to an all 36 in 30% of the ground. Not enough clean ball movement so it stayed in tight most of the game

There was not one winner in Freo's forward half full stop. Pearce and Ryan were outstanding again in the back half, but that is not where games are won. I agree with 13th another nail in the coffin for Ross. Who else has to be accountable for a dysfunctional forward line. He had Matera in the back half for a large part of the game ? Ross is all about defense. I could go further, but there is not much point.

The Adelaide Crows have defeated the Fremantle Dockers by 17-points at Adelaide Oval, to close round seven of the AFL season. In quite possibly the weirdest game for a while, the tight contest did not open up until late in the third when the Crows kicked three in a row to lead at the final change. How the score-line sat at 12 to 14 going into the main break was baffling, though the extreme defensive pressure and poor skills on display might have played a role. With some help from the umpires, the Crows snuck out to a three-goal lead and held on in the last; a couple of goals either way and then four quarters were finally over, much to the relief of Adelaide fans who aren’t used to a crammed, slow game. That’s three wins in a row for the Crows, their season well and truly back on track at 4-3. For the Dockers, the press and aerial work of their forwards was not at the standard it has been in recent weeks. The side struggled moving the football to the forward’s advantage, while the forwards sat back waiting and the defenders intercepted at every opportunity. Matt Crouch was again up and about for Adelaide (39 disposals), while Rory Sloane and Cam Ellis-Yolmen picked up 33 disposals each around the ground. There were no multiple goal-kickers for Adelaide; Taylor Walker slotted the first goal, but was otherwise held well by Fremantle’s Alex Pearce. Reilly O’Brien had a good night in the ruck, winning 44 hit-outs up against Rory Lobb (30 hit-outs). Nat Fyfe (32 disposals, 8 tackles) led from the front, while Luke Ryan racked up 34 disposals at half-back and David Mundy 35 disposals through the middle. Darcy Tucker kicked two goal, but it was an otherwise quiet night with Cam McCarthy, Brandon Matera and Sam Switkowski failing to impact the forward contest. Next up for Adelaide is the Showdown against Port Adelaide on Saturday night, while the Dockers return to Perth to host Richmond on Sunday afternoon. Final Score Adelaide 7.9. 51 Fremantle 5.4. 34

I'm not blaming the key forwards for that one Matti, no use having some of the best in the game if the supply inside 50 is that disgraceful.

Not normally one to blame the umpiring but that was atrocious today. The 50m against Tucker, fair enough it was just dumb. The 50m penalty against Hill was absolutely ridiculous... have seen so many players do that and not get pinged. Happens all the time especially when players are having shots after the siren. The non holding the ball decision against Betts, absolutely appalling, definite decision which lead to a goal. Not necessarily saying that was the difference but I feel the Crows were very lucky. As for the game itself, utterly putrid. Freo went right back into there shell and it was like all the positive we have seen in the last few weeks went out of the window. No fast ball movement, no taking the game on through the centre, no giving our forwards decent supply. It was old fashioned bomb the ball in and hope for the best and the Adelaide defence had a field day. Not that the Crows were any better, they did exactly the same thing and in the end did it with marginally more success. Things I learned from this game: Ross Lyon cannot change, we have a great exciting list that was once again held back by an atrocious game plan, they deserve better than be directed to play this crap Alex Pearce should be all australian: the bloke was absolutely immense. Tex Walker is one of the most overrated players in the comp and it showed as Pearce towelled him up. Eddie Betts is a matchwinner...... end of story.

Great contest, Crows a touch to good, Freo gave a 100% its all you can ask for. Obvious the crows got the rub of the green, i reckon it was the worst i have ever seen, no such thing as holding the ball today. No excuses though, crows are hard to beat over there.

Yeah but wasn't there a 50m that we should have got like 20 seconds earlier.

Jordan, the 50 m penalty was the last straw against Hill, he threw grass at him while shooting for goal.
