Marnus and Sids out, Patto x2 in.
Let’s not muck about this time and just win this thing.

Unlucky seven: Who will miss the Ashes - and what is Australia's best XI?

When I read “expert” I was expecting to see names like Adam Gilchrist and Alan Border. Roar expert… yeah ok…

VOTE: Which expert picked the better Ashes side?

Yeah.

Alex Carey should not play in the Ashes

The Hazlewood myth continues to grow

Australia World Cup player ratings

We’re talking Test cricket. I look at Carey and he’s got something special about him that not all players have. There will be times during the Ashes, like there has in the past, when there bowlers will be ripping through us. I’d feel more comfortable having Carey strolling out rather than a few of these others.

Alex Carey should not play in the Ashes

The Aussie middle order folds like a pack of cards. I’d go for a player that can perform under pressure any day.

Alex Carey should not play in the Ashes

Wow… you’re a mind reader. Actually no not at all. I’ve stated this before. I’m a cricket fan, or a fan of the game and therefore follow all Test series. It ruins the game globally. Both WI and Ireland are pretty much at the bottom of the food chain yet there best players are representing another country.
Sorry to ruin your assumption of me.

Clinical England boss Australia in World Cup semi-final

Also even though Carey’s FC is not impressive at this stage I think most have been impressed with his coolness under pressure. He and Smith are the only Aussie bats with some serious ticker. We’re going to need that when he strolls out at 4/30 several times during the Ashes.

Alex Carey should not play in the Ashes

Carey was clinical at state level but his keeping has dropped of since joining the Australian set up funnily enough.

Alex Carey should not play in the Ashes

Play him in the 1st, 3rd, and if the series is still alive, 5th Test.

Hazlewood is bowling himself out of the Ashes

Hazlewood would be my 5th pick. He’s getting by on what his form was 2 years ago.

Hazlewood is bowling himself out of the Ashes

Exactly my point. Instead of falling into the argument of well, the Aussies have done it before, my argument is that it isn’t good for the game globally. The bigger nations take the talent from the smaller nations. It’s counter productive in growing the game. Ireland, a cricket minnow needs Morgan more than what England does. I just think it a shame.

Carey in the Ashes squad for mine… the guy has ticker. Going to need it when he strolls out in the whites at 4/30 on an overcast day in Manchester soon.

Clinical England boss Australia in World Cup semi-final

I didn’t realise teams could recruit players from other countries.., is there some sort of AFL type draft system going on that I don’t know about?

NZ batted first

Dropping Glenn Maxwell against England would be a huge mistake

All irrelevant. Bat first = Win. Thanks.

Dropping Glenn Maxwell against England would be a huge mistake

Regardless is a pretty good thing to have guys in form coming in as replacements.

Mitch Marsh and Handscomb can help Australia beat England

So what World Cup semi final experience can Wade draw on?

It’s the bat first World Cup

Wounded Australia fall to South Africa, drop top spot ahead of World Cup finals

News is that Marsh is still hitting them well in the nets and a great guy to have in the change rooms.

Maxwell, Marsh injured as Australia forced into World Cup swap

No. Just stating fact.

England smash Kiwis to book semi-final spot

When has NZ ever beaten Australia in a big game of cricket?

England hammer the disappointing Black Caps to secure a World Cup semi-final spot

Well, we’ve learned nothing new… England look like superstars when the conditions favour their batsmen.
The squeaky wheel gets the oil, hey Johnny?

England smash Kiwis to book semi-final spot

If they need that to motivate them, they’re weaker psychologically in big events than what I had thought.

Australia and South Africa prepare to renew hostilities

Yes, he’s a poor leader.
