The 2023 Trade Period slowed down on Day 4 after a heavy start, with a number of deals stalling as clubs begin to wheel and deal. Join The Roar for a live blog and rolling coverage of the day’s news, rumours and action from 9am (AEDT).

After five trades on the third day of the trade period, no deals were made on Thursday, with the bigger stories clubs rejecting early offers.

Geelong aren’t satisfied with Port Adelaide’s offer of pick 24 for Esava Ratugolea, which in turn is holding up the Power’s interest in making moves on Essendon defender Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and Western Bulldogs ruckman Jordon Sweet; in a similar boat is wantaway Hawk Jacob Koschitzke, with Hawthorn asking for more from Richmond than what the Tigers are willing to part with.

Complicating matters further is the continued absence of a Bombers free agency bid for Jade Gresham, with the club needing to lodge paperwork by 5pm on Friday afternoon.

Tyler Brockman’s wish to return home to Western Australia has also hit complications, with the Hawks keen to trade him to Fremantle rather than his preferred West Coast, and use him to make a bold ploy for Dockers wingman Liam Henry, who is seeking a trade to the Saints.

Doesn't matter what direction his stripes go, you'd still tip him to kick a bag against Essendon

You can't dismiss Hamling because the coach wants to stick fat with your faux tough guy captain who by the way is a lot older than Hamling. So I've listed 3! In the ball park. Darcy? Watch this space over the next 12 months.

Think Port want Soldo from Richmond 1st up.Then they would likely trade Lycett if any suitors, heard Geelong had a bit of interest in him so maybe steaknives in the Ratougolea deal.Think they still want Jordan Sweet then they would probably delist or trade Sam Hayes I would say and that still leaves young Dante Vinsentini as our young developing ruckman.Lycett has a contract offer from Port but apparently its a very ordinary offer[he hasn’t signed it yet] think they are just waiting to see if these deals can get done

Really? Hamling is over 30 and is leaving because he couldn't get a game. Darcy is speculation, hasn't requested a trade and is contracted. So you've listed two.

Agreed Don, there is a common thread with Young that is across several years. He seems to be pretty consistently anti his players playing for Freo.

I agree,I think BZT will be very handy at Port especially if they get the big Sav from Geelong to help Aliir .BZT will basically be playing the 3rd tall defender role and will replace Tom Jonas who retired

You'll need to replace the 4 or 5 walking out the door!

All that makes a lot of sense. He wouldn't be required to be the no.1 defender at Port, especially if they get Esava across the line. More like 3rd tall defender, could be handy for them. Don needs to keep up.

Don clearly wouldn't understand that a key defender has more value than a winger/flanker.

Incredible. Freo must be the absolute best 14th placed side in history. Little wonder you're celebrating, Donsy. Yaaaayyy! We are the Freo shockers!

Yeah in the VFL we did play Weiderman down back for a bit and he did pretty well. He’s more a break glass in case of emergency kind of I would start Reid and or Hayes ahead of him.

I'm talking about all those that have left. The 3 guns are Neale. Hogan and Logue and only one of those guns has fired reliably. The next tier down, plus my 3 guns, have been comfortably replaced by the players above.
