The 2023 Trade Period slowed down on Day 4 after a heavy start, with a number of deals stalling as clubs begin to wheel and deal. Join The Roar for a live blog and rolling coverage of the day’s news, rumours and action from 9am (AEDT).

After five trades on the third day of the trade period, no deals were made on Thursday, with the bigger stories clubs rejecting early offers.

Geelong aren’t satisfied with Port Adelaide’s offer of pick 24 for Esava Ratugolea, which in turn is holding up the Power’s interest in making moves on Essendon defender Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and Western Bulldogs ruckman Jordon Sweet; in a similar boat is wantaway Hawk Jacob Koschitzke, with Hawthorn asking for more from Richmond than what the Tigers are willing to part with.

Complicating matters further is the continued absence of a Bombers free agency bid for Jade Gresham, with the club needing to lodge paperwork by 5pm on Friday afternoon.

Tyler Brockman’s wish to return home to Western Australia has also hit complications, with the Hawks keen to trade him to Fremantle rather than his preferred West Coast, and use him to make a bold ploy for Dockers wingman Liam Henry, who is seeking a trade to the Saints.
