The Geelong Cats are looking to keep pace with the top four, but they’ll have to beat the resurgent North Melbourne Kangaroos at The Gabba to do so. Join The Roar for live scores from 5:40pm (AEST).
The Cats continue to yo-yo over the last month, alternating between wins and losses. They were far from disgraced in their last loss, however, falling to West Coast by nine points in an absolute classic. That said, the loss put them four points behind the top four and they’ll want to crack back in.
North Melbourne, on the other hand, managed to scrape themselves out of the bottom four with a crushing win over last-place Adelaide last week. The Kangaroos still have plenty of problems to fix, but with a six-game losing streak off their backs, could be set to go on a tear.
Geelong have a strong recent record against North, winning the last five meetings between the sides by an average of 30 points. Last year’s second meeting saw the Roos held to just one goal. Both sides lost narrowly in their last visits to The Gabba.

The only thing this guy is missing is MEAT!! .... Can't expect to play footy consistently at the highest level while depriving your body of thee essentials by practicing veganism!!!!!!!

Didn’t Stevens go under the knife earlier this year? Gastric banding?

My view is that if it wasn’t for the the four day break, the Cats would have done the Weagles.

After a Daw inspired thumping of Adelaide last week North looked flat to say the least. Despite the injury toll it is good to see lots of the youngsters coming through this year. Simpkins is becoming a consistent performer.

Nothing like a premiership stealer, GC coach.

I only watched the last, maybe it was just the end of the game.

Yeah, doesn't seem to effect him to much, but he's had all year to lose the spare tyre, what's he doing at training?

Mind you 21 disposals tonight.

Damo’s comment about the two extremely short breaks and a ww game is poignant.

Maybe that is the reason he has been “managed”

Massive missed opportunity by Nth, if you couldn't get close tonight you never will. Not sure to shake my head at Nth (usual reaction) or praise Cats (after 2 short breaks and a wet weather game)

This is one of the lowest intensity games of footy I've seen for a while, neither team running particularly hard, it all just seems super laid back

It’s definitely over now. Dangerfield set it up from the center.
