Max Holmes is looking like he might be worth a big big deal for the cats or someone else

Incredible game, well fought from both teams in front of the newly opened Joel Selwood stand and the largest crowd at Kardinia Park since 1981. St Kilda pushed all the way even though you would have to say that Geelong had the majority of the domination throughout the game. My votes: Dangerfield (GEEL) 3, Dempsey (GEEL) 2, Holmes (GEEL) 1

20' Mannagh has a hack shot at goal from the midst of multiple bodies in the dying moments and it is touched off the boot and then touched across the line as well. Gives the Cats an 8 point lead just before the final siren sounds and signals the end of a tough fought contest.

20' GOAL. Dangerfield ices the game with a late left to right set shot from about 50m out that comes back inside of the left post just in time. The captain stands up for his team as he intercepted the rushed exit kick, took the mark, wore the contact from Mason Wood on the way down. Converted beautifully. Clutch.

18' GOAL. Wilson on debut gets his second and brings it back within a solitary point. A mistake by the Geelong defence on the wing where they let the ball go out the back from an intercept mark that really should have been taken. Ends up with King getting an easy mark on the lead and he turns and sees Wilson running forward in space. He passes it off Wilson marks and plays on quickly after and snaps the goal

17' GOAL. A second goal for St Kilda within 30 seconds. They win the centre clearance with a set play for Steele. He hits a flat kick towards Max King on the lead and in space thanks to the 6-6-6 rule and de Koning panics with the speed of the entry and gives away a free kick. Hasn't had the best day for shots on goal for King but he squeezes this one through on the goal side of the left post.
