The struggling Melbourne Demons will hope to have caught the Gold Coast Suns at a bad time as they clash at Giants Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 6:05pm (AEST).

The highs of 2018 look to be a distant memory for Demons fans now, with yet another loss last weekend moving them to second last at 1-3. They’ve gone 6-20 since the start of 2019 – and five of those wins have been by ten points or fewer. Something is seriously wrong with this football club and they need to start digging themselves out quickly.

After a bright start to 2020, Gold Coast got brought down to earth last week with a hefty loss to Geelong that saw them lose Rising Star favourite Matt Rowell to a shoulder injury. The Suns have been 3-2 in all three of Stuart Dew’s seasons in charge, but finished 2018 4-18 and last year 3-19. They’ll be desperately hoping to avoid another repeat this season.

Melbourne have a dominant record over the Suns, winning the last seven meetings including last year’s one-point thriller. The previous six had come by an average of 50 points. Neither side has ever won at Giants Stadium, however, with Gold Coast 0-4 and Melbourne 0-2 – although the Dees haven’t played there since 2014.

I rate Viney as a hard as a cat’s head footballer but what I’ve seen of him he turns it over a lot. Might be what we need tho, someone to take the load off Cripps and give our young midfielders a bit more time to develop and someone to learn off. I could probably be talked around to getting him though, wouldn’t be the worst pick up. Wines would be a good pick up for a young midfield but I reckon he needs to slim down like Petracca has.

Football ability wise, hopefully not personality wise especially after the way Akers last 5 years or so have gone for him.

Viney isn’t happy and Carlton want a in and under, we are talking cash as well, so if your Carlton and not happy to pay cash for him maybe a lot of other Blues aren’t as well….personally I think its a perfect fit for the Blues him or Wines a player to hand off to your running players.

I hope not, we have enough players that turn it over without adding Viney as well.
