Lloyd and Cornes said after round 1 that Harry kicking 3 was just his job and they would reconsider his worth if he had 30.8 by round 10. Well by round 3 he has 11.2 so he might just make them reconsider after all

MATCH REPORT Carlton has continued its fine start to the season after topping a young North Melbourne in a solid 56-point win at Marvel Stadium on Friday. The Blues kicked six in a row to break the game open after the Roos were the better team in the initial stages, rising to an impressive 11-point lead early in the high-scoring Good Friday clash. A stellar five goals from an accurate Harry McKay and four goals from Charlie Curnow kept the Blues in control for most of the game where the Blues improved their unbeaten start to the campaign to three wins. Blues skipper Patrick Cripps was also influential in the round three encounter with 28 touches, nine score involvements, nine clerances and a goal. The 21.11 (137) to 12.9 (81) win was headed by a monster crowd with the Roos continually showing positives signs throughout the game. Paul Curtis and Nick Larkey were solid in the Roos forward line with three goals each but an achilles injury to Callum Coleman-Jones early in the second quarter left them short a tall. Roos half back Harry Sheezel continued to find the footy with a game-high 32 touches. The Roos won the clearances (43-39) but fell short in inside 50’s (51-62) and tackles (55-76). Some poor free kicks also hurt the Roos particularly in the third term when they managed to bring the deficit down to 22 points before gifting the Blues multiple goals. Curnow hobbled off the field midway through the fourth quarter with a left ankle concern and didn’t return. There may also be some concerns for Blues defender Caleb Marchbank who came from the field after copping two head knocks in the same play in his first game back. The result for the Roos means they remain winless with a 0-3 record with Brisbane and Geelong to come in the next two rounds.
