St Kilda finish Round 8 looking to return to the winners’ list against the struggling North Melbourne. Join The Roar for live scores from 4:40pm (AEST).
The Saints were hit with a reality check after a superb start to the season with last week’s loss to Port Adelaide; however, Ross Lyon’s team remain entrenched in the top four and looking odds on for a finals berth. Just one change has been made to the side, with Cooper Sharman replacing Zaine Cordy in the forward line.
The Kangaroos, on the other hand, are flagging fast after beginning 2023 with consecutive wins, last week’s 90-point thrashing to Melbourne their worst yet.
Midfield star Luke Davies-Uniacke is a more than handy return, while Blake Drury has been named for his AFL debut. Among the outs are key forwards Charlie Comben and Callum Coleman-Jones through injury, young midfielder Tom Powell, and the surprising omission of veteran Aaron Hall despite a 30-disposal game against the Demons.

The low scoring actually had little to do with Ross Lyon. The game was reasonably free flowing. The problem was that neither team kicked straight when kicking at goal and North made do many skill errors inside forward 50.

Ross Lyon would have turned Tony Lockett into a tagger if he coached him .What a boring game plan there's nothing new under the sun .

Well a win is a win ( 4 points ) no matter how you get them.

He's always been good at identifying other coaches' strategies and mirroring them, especially the negative ones.

I actually think he’s a great coach. He’s simply the master of dragging you into trench warfare…which he excels at.

I thought he has been better this year but this harks back to 2016-18 Freo.

Thought Logue left Freo because he didn’t want to play forward?

Rossy is back. Score 10 goals and you’ll best his team. It ain’t happening often. He truly is the master of being involved in some of the most deplorable footy in AFL history. This is yet another fine example.
