Port Adelaide begin Ken Hinkley’s most crucial season at the helm with a blockbuster home match against Brisbane. Join The Roar for live scores from 4:35pm (AEDT).
Seen as one of the premiership favourites, the Lions head to the city of churches as favourites, having added Josh Dunkley, Jack Gunston, Conor McKenna and number one draft pick Will Ashcroft to the side that fought through to a preliminary final last season.
The Power have some fresh faces too, with Junior Rioli and Jason Horne-Francis making their first appearances at Port; in front of a packed home crowd, can they prove their finals miss in 2022 was a one-off with a return to their brilliant best?

Venue: Adelaide Oval

Still don't think he's the man that makes a GF with this side. I would have had him out the door about five years ago.

Didn’t impress me last year and a couple of narrow finals wins inflated their position. Were a better side in the prior two or three years.

Only they would know. Hinkley could have a great coaching system but the players aren't putting in the effort or aren't as good as fans think. Or its the coach not being able to get his msg across. I think it's been a bit of both the last few years from an outsiders perspective. It's just easier to blame a coach than an entire team.

So many easy 6s and 4s too. How about NRL though, the opposition actually gives you the ball after they've had it 6 times :stoked:

Great win Joel. Your boys look pretty good. What's your take on Kenny atm?

Great win. Still firmly believe Brisbane will be the better of these two sides come season's end, but a big win over a bogey side feels very good. JHF and Junior both fantastic, couldn't have written the script for their debuts any better. Charlie was clunking them, Marshall looked great again as the second tall, just need to get Georgiadis' confidence back and that forward line could be set.

Think Horne-Francis is happy to be back at home?

Right here. Just changed my tips to Dogs and Giants. Fully expecting it to blow up in my face and get 2 for the round.

Good work Port helping me after an ordinary start to the tipping season. Very early days and could be wrong but I feel the Lions list has peaked and their recruits this year may be too little too late.
