The Hawks sit 16th, but have shown encouraging signs in Sam Mitchell’s second season, especially at the MCG.
With the Tigers fighting for a finals berth under caretaker coach Andrew McQualter, they will be wary of the danger the Hawks’ possess, and will be keen to continue their winning ways.

Why so sour? Ohhhh I see. You're a Freo supporter. What's going on there, Don? Another walloping last night wasn't good. Freo bottom 3?

Hawks midfield were good ????

Well, we’ll take the 4 points. Another 20 plus possessions by Dusty and 2 goals. Ross just gets better with more game time. Jack, Bolton and Cotch missed some easy conversions. Balta game high 14 marks and 588m. The Coultard kid looks the goods, he deserves a full game after creating 2 last quarter goals out of nothing. Who said we have no youngsters coming through? Time to rest up then the big assignment next week!

Unusual is the norm for me. A great way to live it.

Birdman, it was always going to be close. Tigers came back from a 6 day break from Perth. Hawks midfield was good today and defence solid. Tigers 24 marks inside 50 to 10 squandered opportunities. BTW Gibcus is a 200 gamer and top 10 draft pick and our best player under the age of 21. At 196cm he plays CHF next year. Tigs will be ok ????

I'll give you Lynch but I wouldn't bet the house on Richmond playing finals any time soon. Hawks rebuilding on spare parts and making fast progress.

Tigers definitely! And probably this year the way they're playing. It was only the Hawks insane accuracy and Richmond's poor goal kicking that made it so close. Hawks are going ok but their ladder position is about right. The Tigers get a couple of handy recruits next year too, in Lynch and Gibcus, plus the Tiges have some very exciting young talent in the Magoos!

Disappointing to blow it late on but I really wonder which club is closer to playing finals.
