The Melbourne Demons travel to the SCG to take on the Sydney Swans in an attempt to collect their first win of the season. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:20pm (AEST).

Sydney opened their account in Round 3 with a 19-point victory over Carlton, while Melbourne are last on the ladder.

Jake Lloyd has been Sydney’s most impressive player. At the same time, Isaac Heeney has shown flashes of brilliance filtered with some very quiet patches of football.

For the Demons, Clayton Oliver has been at his clearance accumulating best, but it’s the back six that has let Simon Goodwin’s side down. In the first three rounds, the Demons have conceded on average of 114 points, leading the competition for scores against.

The match-up appears as an interesting contest, in recent seasons the Swans have struggled offensively and the Demons defensively.

Lance Franklin could only manage the two majors last week, meaning he is within his average striking distance of Matthew Lloyd’s 926 goal record on 923.

Prediction
An 0-4 start is extremely difficult to come back from. This week looms as a miniature elimination final for the Dees and, with Sydney’s home record as of late, this game is a 50-50.

The game will depend on whether the out of form Melbourne backline can keep Franklin quiet for the full 120 minutes.

Thank you Melbourne. That's one. Sydney.... Where are their matchwinners? When they were first to the ball they squandered lots of opportunities, when they were second, their tackles didn't stick. Buddy will be fine.

Buddy looked well below his best - at his age every time he struggles ppl will wonder if he's getting to the end. I don't think he's A-grade anymore. Couldn't kick his usual distance and seemed slow today.

It's interesting that you've mentioned the 'One decent quarter', Aw. We had similar issues against the Bulldogs and the Crows this year.

Awesome, can't wait, I'll definitely check it out! I think given the venue and the form of both teams, Port Adelaide should win. It should be a good game, though.

Nothing to worry about. A 35 year old Buddy will keep the punters coming through the gates.

They were great to watch defensively in the second half. Great comeback from the first half! Hopefully this can kickstart their season to reach their full potential

He's the coach. Their forward line is horrible by design.

Swans keep this pathetic play up, and they will be playing in front of no one shortly and fully deserve it. What a disgrace! One decent quarter but after that a huge pile of crap.

Hard fought victory for the Demons at the SCG, They were challenged and overcame the adversity of facing 4-0. Big win at the SCG. They defended much better in the second half and were a completely different side. Well done, Melbourne.

Something to build on for Melbourne. Standard of play probably still not where they'd like.

Gawn takes a good mark in the middle of the ground. He has been superb tonight. Dominated the ruck and has taken some crucial marks in the final half
