The West Coast Eagles have defeated the North Melbourne Kangaroos by 49 points at Optus Stadium.
Adam Simpson’s side were immense all day, and they definitely look like the favourites to win the premiership.
Andrew Gaff and Dom Sheed found plenty of the football for the Eagles, as they both accumulated 30 or more disposals. Josh Kennedy was the star of the show, as he kicked seven majors.
As for Rhyce Shaw’s side, they gave it a good crack, but they just lacked quality compared to West Coast.
Jared Polec found the ball 31 times, but no one else could get 30 or more for the Kangaroos. Cameron Zurhaar booted three majors.
Final score
West Coast Eagles 18.13.121
North Melbourne Kangaroos 10.12.72

All the pressure is on Adam Simpson’s side heading into this game. A top-two finish would be massive for the Eagles in terms of progressing to the big stage again, and with the ladder being as tight as it is, dropping points at home could prove costly.
After 17 games, the Eagles have secured 12 wins, which highlights the fact that they are having a solid season. The hunger to go back-to-back is evident.
West Coast are coming off a trip to Alice Springs, which resulted in a 13-point victory over the Melbourne Demons. It was not a convincing display from the Eagles, but they will not care in the slightest.
Dom Sheed led the way for the Eagles in terms of finding the ball against the Demons, as he accumulated 34 disposals.
Jack Darling was immense in front of goal, as the forward booted four majors, which proved to be the difference between the two sides come the final siren.
In team news this week for the Eagles, Tom Cole (omitted) makes way for Will Schofield.
As for North Melbourne, they will not be playing finals this season, and that mainly stems from the fact they had such a poor start to the campaign under Brad Scott.
The Kangaroos have produced seven wins from 17 games this season, which is disappointing considering the optimism around Arden Street before the 2019 campaign got underway.
They have been solid under Rhyce Shaw, but they will be disappointed having lost a couple of close games under the caretaker coach, especially last week’s 12-point loss to the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.
Shaun Higgins was solid in his return from injury against the Lions, as the midfielder accumulated 27 disposals. Ben Brown continued his good form, as the big forward booted three majors.
In team news this week for North Melbourne, Scott Thompson (injured), Nathan Hrovat (omitted) and Kayne Turner (rested) all make way. Luke Davies-Uniacke, Paul Ahern and Taylor Garner are the inclusions.
Prediction
North Melbourne have found a competitive edge under Shaw, but that won’t be enough to defeat the Eagles in the west.
West Coast by 30 points.

2 key fwds in the top 6 in the Coleman who combined for 9 goals yesterday which was better than lynch and Riewoldt but we've only heard about that dominant Friday night. Keep going boys, wce are the most balanced and talented side heading into the finals.

Something that sir swamp thing has highlighted: In the last 11 years , Tom Hawkins has kicked 7 goals three times, Jack Riewoldt has kicked 7 goals six times, Lance Franklin has kicked 7 goals nine times, Josh Kennedy has kicked 7 goals twelve times…

Why does he get a free kick when he drops a mark and Allen gives away a free when he's spoiled?

Why does it take ben brown a minute and a half to kick a 30 second goal? Its pathetic
