The reigning premiers West Coast Eagles look to extend their winning streak on a Good Friday night Football match at Optus Stadium, as they take on a Port Adelaide Power side who have suddenly lost two in a row. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 8:10pm AEST.

Both teams will be looking to make a lasting impression on the national stage, in this blockbuster time spot.

Since their thrilling finals series game of 2017, a rivalry of sorts has developed between these two teams.

In that memorable game at Adelaide Oval, both teams were equal on score at the end of the fourth quarter, causing extra time to be invoked.

Port Adelaide appeared to be home and hosed, before the Eagles fought back late, with Luke Shuey marking and kicking a winning goal after the siren in the second period of extra time.

Following that loss, the Eagles won comfortably at home in Round 7 of last year, but in the return Round 21 fixture at Adelaide Oval the Power sought revenge.

With just one-minute left Port Adelaide had an eight-point lead, but the Eagles scored two in the final minute, including another after the final siren goal (by McGovern), yet again breaking the hearts of the Port faithful and steal a four-point win.

History and form suggest that the Eagles will have little trouble on their home deck and only a fool would bet against the reigning premiers, but Port Adelaide have a growing list of grievances they will take with them to Perth.

The Eagles have been, if not imperious, then certainly impressive, while Port have collapsed at the finish line two weeks in a row but have otherwise battled well.

Should the game be tight at the death, watch for who stands strong and who crumbles.

Lewis Jetta is a potentially lethal inclusion for the Eagles, as the pace merchant replaces the talented youngster Josh Rotham who will rightfully feel hard done by.

Meanwhile, Steven Motlop has been the lightning rod for last weeks loss, though more deservedly so, while young and mercurial Todd Marshall is back into the Port side after kicking 4.2 in the SANFL.

Prediction
Two out of the last three games between these teams have been decided by less then a goal, but instructively both those close games were at Adelaide Oval.

In addition, there is the small matter of the Eagles becoming a premiership team since the two teams last met.

Therefore if the Eagles team of last September show up, I expect a decent win by them, with Port battling hard but lacking the polish and poise to ultimately claim the victory.

Eagles by 30 points.

And point proven, you have zero comprehension of football or how to adequately insult someone, but here is a scratch and sniff sticker for effort kid, keep putting in the yards and you'll get past year 4 and big boy primary sooner rather than later.

Calling jds game pathetic is one thing, implying that this is how he has played during his career is just ridiculous. You're obviously the type of personality who cannot cope when challenged, that is ok as the realm of the illogical is vast and full of many specimens lacking such as yourself. You'll make a friend.

I guess peter we expect the Eagles to starting to really fire up now. I know they were starting back to training like you team Collingwood later that all the other teams, But last night game was very disappointing. I hope I will never see The Eagles play like that again. it was pathetic. Yes we are hard on the Eagles but they have not shown their premiship form yet. Now they will come back and smash Geelong in Geelong next Sunday Hopefully. It could happen.

I think we are all still waiting for Jack Darling to take a game apart. He has the talent to do it but only does it sometimes. It think it is time for Jack Darling stop hiding behind Josh Kennedy and start to show his talent and become the leading forward what we all having been waiting for. Josh Kennedy will not be around for much longer. Jack Darling was pathetic last night . Which is very disappointing for some one with so much talent on the football field . Come on Darling stop being a mummy's Boy and play with what you have been drafted for You Should be kicking 50 goals a year and be a real leading forward in the AFl. Well Darling ever show his real promise and Talent?

Something was not clicking with the team yesterday and it’s a mystery. Port scrapped for every kick every tackle and were in the right place at the right time. Eagles were kicking to contests all night or even worse Port players. I don’t believe we can win every game but our quality players did not stand up at all yesterday. It was Brisbane all over again but probably worse considering we were at home. I am sure we will bounce back but it was poor and all the team know it. However Port were brilliant how the heck did they lose to an undermanned Richmond last week? It’s great to see the interstaters doing well and also congrats to the Dockers for a surprising away win. Come on Sydney!!!!

Interesting two games now the premier has taken the underdog with little respect and paid the price. Not by small margins either.

What about Waterman or Brander they have played in the team. I like them both they are the future. Darling needs his confidence back. A time in the Reserves will do him some good.

I sat til the end of this train wreck in the rain and in total dispair. Absolute shocker from Darling, Allen, Hutch and Crippa. Darling can turn a game but his effort last night and last week were pathetic. Its not the end of the world but clearly a change is badly needed. What do we have reserves for? Matty Allen has been banging on the door for ages so if JD is playing like crap what have you got to lose by bringing in Allen? Jett's second efforts last night were as soft as warm butter. Effect plan B because teams have worked out our plan A and time for players to change from reserves.

Just very Disappointing and pathetic by the Eagles last night. Well done to port Adelaide. Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling very disappointing. Maybe Jack Darling should be put into the Eagles reserves for a time. He has done nothing in the first few weeks of the Season. Jack Petruccelle is a star of the future. I am a very disappointed Eagles member and fan. Just pathetic last night.
